- Lead all aspects of the Innovation process and governance, from Idea Hopper, through to Stage Gate, initial launch and in-market performance tracking.
- Partner with cross-functional teams to implement profitable & scalable E2E solutions to bring innovation projects to life via different GTM / trade channels.
- Ensure flawless execution through Project Management excellence, leading cross-functional project teams, driving a proactive approach to stakeholder management, Risk / Issue mitigation etc.
- Continuous improvement to evolve/improve processes, ways of working, and ideas to generate a well oiled collaboration machine across all functions involved in the innovation process.
- Collaborate with Global Foods Group on building the Lift & Scale and capability agenda, in order to drive leverage and mobilise resources behind the aligned Portfolio of The Future priorities.
- Ensure a holistic view across the 360 calendar of all project types ensure the plans are executable within the bandwidth of the BU and to avoid any potential issues.
- Builds BU Hopper Pipeline across multiple Horizons by understanding the macro environment, consumer trends and BU strategic plan, considering the unlocks needed to overcome operational constraints. Leads the 3 Lens (Desirability, Feasibility, Viability) thinking to prioritize growth opportunities, driving focus on scalable platforms and proven Lift & Scale winners.
- Leads the cross-functional development of the Commercial Calendar to deliver against BU growth and profitability targets, assessing the ‘need’ for innovation as part of the BU growth algorithm vs other commercial projects & levers, balancing sufficiency, affordability and executability.
- Drives winning execution of the calendar, for all Innovation, Positive Choices and Commercial Change initiatives. Assesses Calendar readiness, highlighting risks, mitigations and trade offs and engages with Sales to ensure the appropriate focus against each project. Optimizes execution plans to minimize the overall cost of change and complexity and drives focus on stickability of prior year launches.
- Owns BU governance and Stage Gate decision making forum to ensure that all projects are cross-functionally aligned and appropriate trade offs are made between initiatives, brands and categories. Leads regular performance reviews and ensures learnings are built into future projects and calendars.
- Enables best in class innovation results by embedding & managing performance driven ‘Metrics That Matter’ KPIs from Hopper Sufficiency through to Innovation Stickability. Identifies gaps & opportunities against specific KPIs at BU level, and builds action plans to address with local team.
- Owns PEP’s digitized PPM capability at BU level (Portfolio & Project Management), to underpin Innovation & agenda across all Horizons, and ensure one version of the truth across all Innovation data. Drives usage of the tool to agreed execution standards within Commz team, as well as across cross-functional Project Team contributors (ie Marketing, Finance etc).
- Total 10 - 15 years working experience or above.
- Bachelor degree or above.
- Proficiency in both mandarin and English.
- Calendar management: Able to lead the iterative cross-functional development, evaluation and optimisation of the BU commercial calendar, taking into account consumer needs and trends, the external commercial environment and internal resources and capabilities.
- Winning execution: Operates with speed & agility to respond to rapidly changing consumer & commercial context whilst ensuring successful in-market commercialization (on brief, on budget, on time).
- People leader: Builds the functional capability and leadership skills of the BU team, in both project management and broader business influencing skills. Coaches project managers on identifying predictable breakdowns and managing key risks and decisions.
- Holds Others Accountable for Performance: Ensures performance is tracked, understood, shared and used for short-term course correction and longer-term learning.
- Experience collaborating across functions & boundaries & influencing others to action in a complex, x-functional matrixed environment.
