Our client is seeking a seasoned Head of Sourcing to establish and lead our China sourcing office. This role will be responsible for managing a rapidly growing procurement portfolio, with an annual spend of USD 16 million in the first year, scaling to USD 30 million in the second year. The ideal candidate will bring deep category expertise, strong supplier management capabilities, and a strategic mindset to build a high-performing sourcing operation.
  • Strategic Sourcing Leadership: Develop and execute sourcing strategies across multiple categories including hardware, furniture, lighting, and home decoration.
  • Supplier Management: Identify, evaluate, and negotiate with suppliers to build a robust and cost-effective supply base in China.
  • Process Development: Establish and implement SOPs for the entire sourcing lifecycle, covering quality control, packaging standards, and logistics coordination.
  • New Product Development: Collaborate with product and design teams to support supplier engagement in new product development, sampling, and cost optimization.
  • Cost & Quality Optimization: Drive cost savings initiatives while maintaining high standards of product quality and supplier performance.
  • Team Building: Recruit, train, and lead a local sourcing team to support operational growth and strategic goals.
  • Cross-functional Collaboration: Work closely with global teams in operations, logistics, finance, and product development to ensure alignment and execution.

  • Minimum 10 years of sourcing experience, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.
  • Proven expertise in categories such as hardware, furniture, lighting, and decorative products.
  • Strong negotiation skills and supplier relationship management experience in China.
  • Experience in setting up and scaling sourcing operations, including SOP development.
  • Familiarity with product development processes and supplier collaboration.
  • Fluent in English and Mandarin; excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Business, Engineering, or related field; advanced degree is a plus.
