- Lead, recruit & develop the Shanghai quality team (Supervisors, Inspectors, Assistants).
- Own local quality budget & 3rd-party inspection/testing spend; run tenders & vendor management.
- Translate HQ/Ally requirements into executable procedures, train teams, monitor compliance.
- Secure EU regulatory compliance for all DIY, hardware or home-improvement products; resolve critical quality issues.
- Partner with Commercial teams to integrate quality into sourcing strategy.
- Represent quality to Allies: audits, factory visits, claim responses.
- 10 years' quality leadership in non-food international sourcing, merchandising or export, gained in China.
- Demonstrated success managing sizable, multi-level teams in a fast-changing environment.
- Expert understanding of EU product regulations relevant to DIY retailers.
- Proven ability to build compliant quality systems and technical documentation.
- Skilled in cost-efficient testing/inspection strategy and supplier qualification.
- Exceptional English (written, spoken); strong presentation and negotiation skills.
- Credible company representative to Allies and external labs; collaborative style with HQ, commercial teams and suppliers.
- Able to generate concise, data-driven reports for senior management and defend positions when required.
- Track record owning and optimising budgets >USD 1 M.
- Experience driving organisational change to cut expenses without sacrificing quality.
