- Identify opportunities for market expansion, including e-commerce, retail partnerships, and emerging channels (e.g., live-streaming commerce, social selling).
- Monitor industry trends, consumer behavior, and competitive landscape to inform agile decision-making.
- Financial Performance:
- Own P&L responsibility, driving revenue growth, profitability, and cost optimization.
- Set and achieve annual sales targets, budgets, and ROI objectives.
- Analyze financial data to identify risks and opportunities, adjusting strategies as needed.
- Team & Talent Management:
- Build and lead a high-performing cross-functional team (sales, marketing, operations, finance).
- Foster a culture of innovation, collaboration, and accountability.
- Recruit, mentor, and retain top talent to support scalability and organizational growth.
- Brand Development & Marketing:
- Elevate brand equity through localized campaigns, KOL/influencer partnerships, and digital-first strategies (e.g., Douyin, Xiaohongshu).
- Oversee product launches, ensuring alignment with Chinese consumer preferences and regulatory standards.
- Strengthen omnichannel presence, including Tmall/JD flagship stores, offline retail, and duty-free channels.
- Partnerships & Stakeholder Relations:
- Cultivate strategic alliances with distributors, retailers, and tech platforms (e.g., Alibaba, Tencent).
- Manage relationships with government bodies, industry associations, and media to ensure compliance and advocacy.
- Compliance & Risk Management:
- Ensure adherence to China’s regulatory requirements (e.g., cosmetics safety standards, advertising laws).
- Mitigate risks related to supply chain, IP, and geopolitical factors.
- Stakeholder Communication:
- Provide regular updates to global leadership on market performance, challenges, and opportunities.
- Collaborate with regional/global teams to align strategies and share best practices.
- Education & Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, or related field; MBA preferred.
- 10+ years of experience in the cosmetics/beauty industry, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership role (e.g., GM, Country Manager).
- Proven track record of scaling a business in China’s competitive market.
- Skills & Competencies:
- Deep understanding of China’s cosmetics ecosystem, including e-commerce platforms (Tmall, JD.com), social commerce, and DTC models.
- Strong analytical skills with expertise in data-driven decision-making (e.g., CRM, market analytics).
- Fluent in Mandarin and English; cross-cultural fluency to bridge global and local teams.
- Exceptional leadership: ability to inspire, coach, and drive results through others.
- Agile thinker with a bias for action in fast-paced environments.
