We serve over 1,000 investment firms, offering clients 24/7 coverage through our team of 1,300+ employees located across eight offices.Job DescriptionLegal Team OverviewYou will be working within a dynamic and high performing global legal team which is growing to keep pace with the fast-paced growth of the Company. You will report to the Head of Legal, China, based in Shanghai, but also work closely with the global Legal Team based in New York and London. You will be a trusted legal adviser to the business with a focus on commercial contract negotiations, but also with a broad variety of work on offer.Your responsibilities will include but not be limited to:● Drafting, negotiating and approving our agreements with our clients (including without limitation to client agreements, addendums and order forms)● Drafting, checking and negotiating vendor contracts (including without limitation to service/stuff procurement, marketing, NDAs, property leases and content distribution)● Efficiently responding to both local internal and external legal inquiries● Conducting legal research, monitoring law updates and analysing the impacts on our business● Providing legal training to the commercial team regularly● Managing the company chop process and corporate governance including the management of our local companies and required filings in China● Proactively seeking out ways to mitigate risks, improve efficiencies, and work to implement solutions across the legal team● Working collaboratively and closely with the commercial team on a cross-functional skills basis● Working closely with the Head of Legal, China on other key legal matters, including dealing with governmental affairs and providing our China legal policiesQualificationsEssential Skills● Law Degree and admitted to legal qualification● 5+ years PQE● Compliance experience in financial regulations or securities, a plus● Excellent written and verbal communication skills in both English and Chinese● Strong contract negotiation skills and attention to detail● Comfortable making decisions, combined with strong commercial awareness and good business judgement to also know when to escalate issues● Experience and knowledge of IP & PIPL, a plus● Desire to be challenged and to work independently on complex and time-sensitive projectsAdditional InformationHow will you be rewarded?
