
Validation Engineer Mechanical-Clutch

Perform development and validation engineering functions for clutch products, such as Dual Clutch Module (DCM) and Dedicated Hybrid Clutch (DHT). Work together with the global Transmission Systems Engineering organization in the development of Transmission and Hybrid system clutch products. Responsibilities include designing experiments and test requirements according to BorgWarner validation standards or customer requirements, creating prototype build Work Instruction (WI), generating DVP&R, writing test reports and on-site transmission/vehicle level trouble shooting support.Principal Accountabilities / Responsibilities
- Coordinate with product engineering team and engineering labs to initiate, update and manage the DVP&R.
- Define the test sequences according to test specifications and customer test requirements.
- Responsible for testing data post processing, analysis, and evaluation.
- Support customer test data analysis.
- Initiate meeting to review test data with the team and generate validation report.
- Initiate and update validation related documents including but not limited to validation preparation sheet, work instruction, and testing specification update.
- Support team efforts to maintain and improve test system efficiency.
- Use thorough and effective methods for root cause analysis on issues from the testing or customer prototype product returns and generate reports.
- Communicate testing progress and status.
- Participate in customer meetings and present test results.
- Customer on-site troubleshooting support for clutch application on transmission/vehicle.

- Meet EHS responsibilities requirement.
- Bachelor’s degree in mechanical or electrical engineering required, master’s degree preferred
- Familiarity with data acquisition and statistical methods for data analysis
- Experience in using Famos is preferred, experience in using Canapés or INCA is a plus
- Experience with clutch required
- Knowledge in hydraulic control components and systems preferred
- Ability to work effectively across functional and geographic boundaries in the interest of the customer and the business required
- Experience in working with Automotive OEM customers required
- Vehicle evaluation and test skills preferred
- English language proficiency required
