
Validation Engineer Mechanical-Fluids

Perform product development, prototype delivery and validation tests for hydraulics products, such as solenoids and Hydraulic Control Module (HCM). Responsibilities include generating prototype build Work Instruction (WI), designing experiments and test requirements according to BorgWarner validation standards, generating DVP&R, and writing validation reports. Support team to maintain and improve test system efficiency.Principal Accountabilities / Responsibilities
- Coordinate with product engineering team and engineering labs to initiate, update and manage the DVP&R.
- Translate the product specifications into testing specifications and define the details of testing items and testing profiles.
- Responsible for generating prototype build WI.
- Review and confirm that the test resources availability, such as tester, sensors, software, etc. meet the testing requirements.
- Responsible for testing data post processing including but not limited to GR&R, correlation study, and product testing data analysis.
- Initiate meeting to review test data with the team and generate validation report.
- Initiate and update validation related documents including but not limited to validation preparation sheet, work instruction, and testing specification.
- Support team efforts to maintain and improve test system efficiency.
- Use thorough and effective methods for root cause analysis on issues from the testing or customer prototype product returns.
- Communicate testing progress and status with team.

This individual will work in manners that stress the importance of preventing accidents and illnesses. He/she must take every precaution reasonable in the given circumstance for the protection of themselves and coworkers. In addition, he/she is responsible for reporting all injuries and/or possible dangerous situations, incidents, or occurrences to the immediate supervisor.
- Meet EHS responsibilities requirement.
- Bachelor’s degree in mechanical or electrical engineering required
- Minimum 3-year experience in powertrain or drivetrain product testing/validation required
- Software programming experience (C,C++) preferred
- Experience in transmission hydraulic control product preferred
- Experience in using LabVIEW, MATLAB or Minitab preferred
- Experience in using Canapés or FAMOS preferred
- Ability to work effectively across functional and geographic boundaries in the interest of the customer and the business required
- English language proficiency required
- Excellent interpersonal skills required
- Experience in shock absorber product is a plus
- Experience in pneumatic product is a plus
