This is why we are looking for a strong leader to drive that vision over the next months and years.The Country Director will drive Agoda's aggressive growth strategy in China, leading and managing local team while working with multiple stakeholders at Agoda and in the travel industry in the region. Driven personality, strong leadership, disciplined work habits, and attention to details will be the key to the role, which offers direct exposure to Agoda global SLT. Main responsibilities include: (1) set strategic objectives to deliver aggressive growth in the region, (2) lead, coach and manage team leaders to achieve set targets, (3) manage and optimize the operational efficiencies within the region (4) build high-level and long-lasting hotel groups relationships to enhance contracting efforts (5) drive an innovation hub for the region, and globally, through pilot and experimentation.This role is based in Shanghai and will manage teams based in different offices in China.In this Role, you'll get to:
- Lead a larger team across different offices in China, scale innovative products and deliver business growth
- Drive strategy development in conjunction with Agoda HQ and set clear objectives to grow the Supply offering in the region
- Identify and evaluate opportunities thru data that innovate the business model, improve Agoda's customer value proposition, and generate significant incremental revenues
- Work with internal product, finance, and marketing teams to develop and scale new program participation
- Develop and own relationships with key decision makers at hotels, hotel groups, associations, and other relevant industry bodies
- Attend and participate to relevant tradeshows, workshops, and local events necessary to achieve goals and represent the company in line with company guidelines
- Recruit, develop, coach, manage, retain, lead senior staff to ensure adherence to all targets and KPIs, plus personal development paths
- Bachelor's or equivalent degree required
- MBA or equivalent a plus
- 7 years plus business development experience required, ideally in online business (ecommerce, OTA…)
- Minimum of 5 years' experience managing a team, with a proven success record in setting KPIs and sales and marketing strategies
- 5+ years progressive sales and marketing experience in consultative sales or sales management environment
- Strong Communication Skills with fluency in English and Chinese
- Strong numerical and analytical skills
- Strong interpersonal skills (externally and internally)
- Ability to communicate value proposition to potential partners
- Understanding of the principles of conversion, ROI and financial metrics associated with online advertising and online partnerships
