- The role oversees end-to-end accounting operations and financial closing, ensures accurate reporting and tax compliance, maintains effective internal controls and fixed asset management, and drives team development and process improvements.
- Oversee the entire accounting cycle, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, cash management, and bank reconciliations.
- Ensure all financial transactions are recorded accurately, completely, and in a timely manner.
- Manage the monthly and annual closing processes.
- Manage the company's fixed asset register and depreciation schedules.
- Prepare timely monthly and annual financial statements and management reports in accordance with Chinese Accounting Standards.
- Ensure strict compliance with all PRC tax regulations, including VAT, Corporate Income Tax, and each Income Tax (IIT), and manage the timely submission of all tax returns.
- Maintain a robust system of internal controls to safeguard the school's assets.
- Liaise with external auditors, tax bureau, and other government authorities as required.
- Drive, mentor, and develop the accounting team, fostering a culture of accuracy, accountability, and continuous learning.
- Allocate workloads and review the work of team members to ensure high-quality output.
- Identify and implement process improvements to streamline accounting procedures and enhance the use of the financial system (e.g., D365).
- Develop and update accounting policies and procedure manuals.
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Obtained Intermediate Accounting Certificate.
- 5+ years of full-cycle accounting, including hands-on general ledger management,including 2+ years experience in a supervisory role and directly supervising at least one accounting staff member.
- Experience independently to do month-end close (JEs, reconciliations, variance review)
- Working proficiency in spoken and written English
- A professional accounting qualification (e.g., CPA, ACCA, CICPA) is preferred.
- Practical experience with Chinese Accounting Standards and PRC tax regulations is required.
- Experience using accounting systems (e.g., D365 or similar) and MS Excel for daily work is preferred.
- Good attention to detail with a focus on accurate record-keeping.
- Adequate organizational and time-management skills to handle assigned deadlines.
- Sound problem identification and reasoning skills.
