- Leverages the Continuous Improvement Process Sourcing (CIPS) process for implementing effective sourcing strategies in line with business strategy and ensuring that the supply base/suppliers have the capability and capacity to meet current and future business requirements.
- Ensures all relevant parties understand strategies and execute processes accordingly.
- Manages planning and tracking of procurement activities, cost budgets, emerging country spending, and savings forecasts.
- Minimizes risk regarding quality and financial exposure by buying in accordance with quality and commercial procedures and company guidelines.
- Negotiates agreements with main suppliers, and periodically renews price lists, and terms and conditions.
- Adapts corporate contractual framework to the local business needs.
- Recommends frame agreements to management and executes upon approval.
- Provides ongoing oversight and contract management with suppliers.
- Ensures identification, investigation, and selection of appropriate suppliers (focusing on quality, delivery, cost, and sustainability) in accordance with company policies.
- Defines and establishes local standard agreements with all major suppliers.
- Provides and maintains standard terms in purchase contracts/terms and conditions in line with company directives and guidelines.
- Designs and implements cost-out programs and/or processes to reach financial targets.
- Applies and implements procurement standards, tools, and processes focused on business continuity for the assigned commodity or group of commodities.
- Contributes to and participates in setting and implementing budgets and targets within the framework.
- Ensures the category sourcing performance targets are achieved.
- Ensures all staff (under scope) understand ABB’s core values and group safety and integrity standards and act accordingly.
- Implements and ensures compliance with the ABB code of conduct, global and local standards, tools, policies, and processes in their assigned area.
- Ensures adherence to all internal and statutory regulations and policies pertaining to the teams in scope.
- Ensures integrity and compliance with ABB values and ethics in all activities across all teams in scope.
- Accountable for the health and safety of all employees and contractors for the teams in scope, and continuous improvement in Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) processes and integrity performance.
- Promotes and enables collaboration in the division, across divisions, business areas, and teams to maximize results for ABB.
- Provides guidance to the teams and seeks knowledge for their own development and coaching/mentoring of the teams.
- Manages relationships with stakeholders in their own area of responsibility and ensures alignment.
- Ensures that their own area of responsibility is properly organized, staffed, skilled, and directed.
- Inspires, guides, motivates, and develops direct and indirect reports within HR policies.
- Builds effective, competent, and high-performing teams.
- Reviews organizational effectiveness and performs competence assessments and continuous skill upgrades.
