- The Director of Operations builds and cultivates strong and sustaining partnerships with R&D, Divisional & Regional Sales & Marketing and other Global sites and is recognized as an excellent team player within Global Supply chain and the particular divisions in which they operate.
- The incumbent is recognized as having particular expertise in communication & presentation skills and will be totally at ease and professional in presenting to, and achieving motivation and enthusiasm on his/her site, typically made up of several hundred employees.
- He or she is committed and innovative in developing their employees, driving succession planning and key development programs for direct reports and throughout the organization. The Director of Operations visibly demonstrates the core values of BSC in everyday leadership style and is looked upon and admired in this regard by the rest of the organization.
- The individual promotes quality and customer satisfaction as a way of life within the site and develops a long term strategy for the business and implement it such that it provides vision and direction for the future.
- It is necessary for this individual to have an in-depth business knowledge, equally proficient in product & process knowledge and appropriate human anatomy and product applications.
- Appointed Management with Executive Responsibility for the China Site.
- Bachelor’s degree or above in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Quality Management, Biomedical Engineering or related fields.
- Minimum 10 years of solid working experience in the medical device industry; at least 5 years of comprehensive management experience as Plant Manager / Operations Director; proven experience in full-scope plant operations including production, quality, supply chain, EHS, cost control and delivery.
- In-depth knowledge of FDA, NMPA, ISO13485 and GMP requirements for medical devices; experienced in leading quality system operation, deviation handling, CAPA, change control, traceability system, internal / external audits and customer audits with strong compliance and risk control capabilities.
- Proficient in lean manufacturing, continuous improvement (CI), OEE and capacity planning with a track record of efficiency improvement and cost reduction; familiar with and experienced in driving digitalization, automation and standardization in line with US corporate requirements.
- Experienced in material planning, inventory control, EHS management and cross-functional collaboration; strong business mindset in budget management, target setting and KPI implementation; excellent team building, talent development, performance management and cross-departmental coordination skills.
- Fluent in English (both written and spoken), capable of direct communication and reporting with US headquarters, APAC and regional executives.
- Strong result orientation, high resilience, data-driven decision-making, and full accountability for overall plant performance.
