- Develop and implement product safety strategies to ensure compliance with hazardous chemical regulations.
- Monitor and interpret regulatory changes, ensuring that all products meet relevant safety and regulatory requirements.
- Lead the execution of regulatory compliance activities in alignment with the strategic partnership with the Public and Governmental Affairs function, reinforcing BASF's reputation as a leader in the chemical industry.
- Formulate and advance the product safety/stewardship strategy and initiatives, ensuring alignment with BASF's commitment to the safe, responsible, and sustainable use of its product portfolio in Greater China.
- Leverage GHS classification expertise to support hazard communication and classification efforts.
- Support advocacy activity in GHS and hazardous chemicals
- Monitor, identify and communicate professional interpretations of related hazardous chemical regulations
- Manage internal stakeholders across ODs, sites, and functional departments by providing relevant training and compliance solutions to meet regulatory needs.
- Represent the organization in senior projects for Greater China, driving the integration of product safety compliance and risk management.
- Ensure a license to operate by coordinating with Greater China legal entities to comply with hazardous chemical regulation requirements.
- Support the enhancement of systems and compliance measures related to substance tracking and reporting.
- Deliver professional product safety and stewardship services throughout the entire product lifecycle, including raw material selection, management of change, and responding to customer inquiries for the designated business unit.
- Education: Master's degree in science related area, preferably Chemistry, Chemical, Polymer, Materials.
- Working Experience: At least 8~10 years' experience in product safety stewardship and/or strategic roles such as advocacy, communications and regulatory affairs
- Experience and network in dealing with product issues in the chemical industry. Preferably network in Authorities, Government structures, Research institutes, Advisors, etc.
- Technical & Professional Knowledge:
- Familiarity with regulatory procedures, registration processes, and risk assessment.
- Good understanding of the master data system, supply chain, and business processes.
- Strong project management skills.
- Fluent in both written and spoken English and Chinese.
