Your RoleWe are seeking Senior Design Manager to join an exciting, large-scale, mixed-use (including: commercial, residential, cultural, transit, retail, entertainment, hospitality, education, etc.) international project, offering the opportunity to be an integrated and active member of a diverse, multi-disciplinary team, working alongside multiple Gensler offices. This role will sit in the Shanghai office.You will leverage your experience in architecture, your attention to detail, and interpersonal skills to deliver exceptional client projects on time and on budget. You will deploy resources to ensure that the work process flows smoothly and act as the primary liaison between the team and client. This is a great opportunity to join a highly creative, collaborative team while working on trendsetting architecture projects across a variety of industries.What You Will DoManage all phases of projects, including project set-up, design and construction administrationCreate and communicate clear and attainable project objectives and project requirementsManage project scheduling, budgets, and set-up with sub-contractors, vendors and consultantsManage a range of project team sizes, comprised of project architects, design directors, job captains and graphic designersTrack financial performance of projectPrepare project proposals, negotiate contracts and fees, coordinate bidding processEnsure projects conform to contractYour Qualifications15+ years of design management experience and prefer to have large-scale international project management experience.Accredited degree in Architecture requiredExperience with the entire project lifecycle, through post-occupancyExperience leading, managing and mentoring multiple project teamsExperience negotiating project scope and feesKnowledge of building codes, standards and building structuresProven fiscal accountability and responsibility on projectsStrong leadership, organization, communication and relationship management skillsRevit skills are highly valuedLife at GenslerAt Gensler, we are as committed to enjoying life as we are to delivering best-in-class design.
