Relocation Assistance Available: NoThe Distinguished Engineer will be a key technical subject matter expert by providing input into technical strategy and ensuring implementation of engineering initiatives with deep expertise/influence. The role will deliver expertise for the assigned focus area by developing actionable plans with specific timeline/resource needs and influencing the technical community.Responsibilities:Lead project management end-to-end of the assigned focus area and key projects. Present to leadership teams on a regular cadence to report on progress made compared to the strategy and milestones outlined in the plan.Lead and share technical expertise in area of focus that ensures execution of overall Goodyear technology strategy. This includes developing/implementing plans that achieve technical deliverables and provide time-sensitive project/program plans for execution.Drive knowledge/technology transfer and provide mentoring, training, and coaching to the technical community. Provide balanced/actionable feedback on project team members to the Program Managers that can then be incorporated in the ongoing feedback and development dialogue.Demonstrate evidence of/share thoughts around how they build trust, manage resources by influence, provide guidance and direction, and thought leadership while providing subject matter expertise for priority business needs.Requirements:Bachelor's degree and above in Mechanical Engineering or related Engineering field8 or more years of research and development experience in a related spaceExperience at the associate or principal level within Research and DevelopmentExperience with patent and trade secret possibilities with the ability to recommend necessary actionExperience in establishing capital and expense items for projects, along with the staffing needed to accomplish the objectivesExhibits a very high degree of professional proficiency in an appropriate disciplineRecognized as an expert in a field and has some recognition of professional accomplishment outside the companyAbility to establish objectives for new projects and contributes to the formulation of the work plans of others in the field of their expertiseGoodyear is an Equal Employment Opportunity and Affirmative Action Employer.
