Position Overview:Duke Kunshan University (DKU) a Sino-US Joint Venture University approved by the Ministry of Education and co-founded by Duke University, Wuhan University and Kunshan City Government. DKU is a non-profit public welfare social organization with independent legal status. The campus is located in Kunshan Yangcheng Lake Science Park, Jiangsu Province, about 30 km from Shanghai. DKU offers a series of graduate degree programs and launched its undergraduate degree program in 2018. Our campus provides an innovative, interdisciplinary undergraduate liberal arts experience to a student body that will number 2500 students and 200+ faculty, with a student body represented by over 70 counties.DKU is seeking applications for a senior coordinator position for the office of research support and technology transfer (RSO) to support its steadily expanding academic programs. Successful candidates will work closely with faculty members as well as administrative and research staff members from various units to provide comprehensive support for research activities on campus, including undergraduate research. The overall scope of work for the position covers all phases of research support, including pre-award, project support and post-award managements to constantly enhance efficiency and effectiveness. More specifically, the senior coordinator will particularly be focusing on strengthening close-loop management of research activities for DKU's core mission, including setting up and refining relevant policies and regulations in alignment with government regulations and international standards, effectively collect and analyze research relevant data for annual reports and constant improvements, supporting university committees for research activities, supporting ongoing research projects, providing professional advices on intellectual properties, research ethics and other relevant aspects, etc.Reports to:Dean of Research and Lab InfrastructureEssential Duties:1. Assist in drafting and updating research relevant policies and regulations, arranging committee meetings related to the development and implementation of those regulations.2. Facilitate communication between RSO, faculty members and grant managers regarding the whole lifecycle management of research projects, knowledge sharing, procedural updates and training needs.3. Assist in the collection and analyzing of research-related data and organizing it into concise summaries and reports.4. Assist the Dean of Research and Laboratory Infrastructure and associate director of RSO in relevant travels, meetings, and other general administrative work.5. Coordinate events related to research capacity building, such as regular townhall meetings with faculty members, research committee meetings of faculty assembly, and other relevant organizations, etc.6. Initiate and lead new projects for constant optimization of RSO regarding efficiency, effectiveness and close-loop management.7. Serve as one of the responsible administrators for the website of RSO, as well as other relevant internal systems to ensure compliance and to provide an effective platform for knowledge sharing.8. Serve as the contact person for external visits to DKU, campus open days, design programs for broadcasting the research aspect of DKU's education model through organized events.9. Serve as the contact person for sustainability and health relevant research disciplines.10. Be responsible for drafting and writing various official documents on behalf of RSO.11. Be responsible for data management system for research projects to ensure compliance.12. Coordinate with asset office on research equipment relevant asset management, with human resources on research staff relevant contracts, with finance on grant support in compliance to external and internal regulations.13. Coordinate with internal and external experts in tasks such as project review, audit, etc.14. Assist in strategic planning of DKU's research support infrastructure, coordinate research relevant training sessions, etc.15. Performs related duties as required.16. University employees' job responsibilities will continue to expand in scope and depth as the University grows in size and complexity in its programs.Skills & experienceRequired Qualifications:1. A master's degree in relevant areas. Candidates with prior experience in research, funding agencies, NGOs are encouraged to apply.2. 5 year(s) of administrative or support experience in a research environment is preferred.3. Excellent language skills in English and in Chinese.4. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (e.g., Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) and experience with database management. Candidates with strong data analytical skills and experience in research support are particularly encouraged to apply.5. Excellent organization skills and attention to detail and accuracy.6. Strong interpersonal, intercultural and written and verbal communication skills.7. Self-disciplined, quick learner and target oriented.8. Ability to work independently or collaboratively in a cross-cultural, multidisciplinary environment9.
