The Policy and Communications Coordinator/Manager's primary responsibilities will be:· Researching, writing and contributing to Chamber publications/reports with support and input from management.· Contributing to key messaging and supporting presentations.· Contributing to the Chamber's understanding and analysis of various economic trends, macro- and micro-economic developments and pertinent issue areas that will continue to define Sino-European relations in the coming decades.Key responsibilities include:Policy analysis· Monitoring of economic trends for Sino-European relations.· Policy and industry research, in particular EU-China relations, WTO commitments and framework, and new Chinese regulations.Publications· Draft and carry out research for key Chamber publications as needed, including local position papers, the annual Business Confidence Survey, the Position Paper and its Executive Summary and other industry- or sector-specific reports and publications.· Produce the advocacy report for the Chamber's bi-monthly magazine, EURObiz, and potentially contribute to the Chamber's website.Media/External Communications· Support the execution of the Chamber's national and local communications strategy as needed, in part by reviewing materials for their media engagement in order to maintain high standards of quality.· Contribute to briefing notes on top-line communication issues.· Draft and contribute to presentations and speeches for high-level, horizontal events where the Chamber will speak and are press facing, as well as general presentations for the Chamber on key issues.Project Management· Lead on engaging local chapter boards and solicit their input into local position papers.· Participate in the development of new research projects.Other duties as required that may involve supporting other departments in government affairs, events and membershipSkills & experience
Outstanding writing and editing skills (native command of the English language).
Attention to detail, a focus on content and a creative and journalistic flare to writing.
Good understanding of and interest in the Chinese commercial, economic and political environment.
Ability to work well in a multi-cultural office environment and coordinate well with colleagues in other cities.
People management experience.
Other European languages and Mandarin are a plus.
Willingness to travel occasionally.
