- Lead engagement with central, provincial, and local government authorities in China to support UL Solutions' business objectives and operational needs.
- Build and maintain effective relationships with regulators, ministries, industry associations, chambers of commerce, and relevant external stakeholders.
- Represent UL Solutions in high-level external engagements, forums, and policy platforms to advance corporate interests and visibility.
- Monitor, analyze, and assess public policy, regulatory, and legislative developments in China relevant to UL Solutions' businesses
- Develop and execute government affairs and policy engagement strategies aligned with enterprise, regional, and global public affairs priorities
- Provide timely policy insights and risk assessments to regional and global stakeholders to inform decision-making
- Support market access, regulatory approvals, and operational continuity through proactive government engagement
- Partner with internal functions including Legal, Sustainability, Trade, PPIM, and Business Units to align government affairs activity with business priorities
- Contribute to enterprise initiatives related to TIC, sustainability, digitalization, energy transition, and emerging regulatory themes
- Serve as the China lead within the Global Government Affairs / Public Affairs network
- Coordinate China-related government affairs inputs into regional and global planning, scenario analysis, and issue management
- Act as a trusted advisor to senior leadership on China policy, regulatory, and geopolitical developments
- Extensive experience in government affairs, public policy, or regulatory engagement in China
- Demonstrated expertise in China's regulatory and governmental environment at central and local levels
- Proven ability to operate effectively in a multinational, matrixed organization
- Strong strategic thinking skills with the ability to translate policy insights into business-relevant guidance
- Experience in regulated or industrial sectors, including TIC, manufacturing, technology, energy, or related fields
- Prior engagement with industry associations and international stakeholders
- Ability to manage complex issues involving regulatory risk, geopolitics, and public policy
