- Provide legal counsel, guidance, and support on a wide range of legal matters related to Moloco's current and future legal and business operations in China, including commercial, regulatory, compliance, labor and employment and privacy/data protection.
- Take ownership of drafting, reviewing, negotiating, and managing a wide range of legal agreements, including but not limited to, demand and supply side ad tech agreements, employment agreements, vendor and procurement contracts, and other customer-facing and strategic partnership agreements.
- Be a legal business partner to Moloco's revenue teams in China, summarizing and communicating legal concepts and risks in a way that is meaningful to business teams and other internal clients.
- Advise internal clients on contract interpretation and negotiation to accelerate contract velocity.
- Seek to understand the context of the positions of Moloco's customers and business partners and the requests from internal clients, and strive to solve problems and address issues from their perspective.
- Support the continuous improvement of agreement templates and legal processes.
- Collaborate with internal clients and other legal team members to assess and mitigate legal risks associated with business decisions and initiatives and support commercial and operational growth.
- Stay updated on changes in relevant laws and regulations, including adtech and privacy laws, and advise internal clients accordingly.
- Assist in the development and implementation of Moloco policies and procedures to ensure legal compliance across Moloco's offices in China (currently Beijing and Shanghai).
- Manage and oversee any legal disputes or litigation involving Moloco in China.
- Provide legal training and assistance to internal clients to enhance their understanding of legal requirements and best practices.
- Assist on day-to-day legal administrative and contract management responsibilities.
- Communicating with and managing any third-party bodies as needed, such as external counsel and advisors and local authorities and regulators.
- PRC-qualified lawyer with excellent academic credentials and demonstrated record of success as a lawyer.
- Minimum 8-10+ years of legal experience, including both top-tier law firm and in-house legal experience with a multinational tech or adtech company.
- Deep and practical working knowledge of China's evolving legal and regulatory landscape, particularly in commercial law, cross-border transactions, data privacy (especially concerning online data and ad tech services), e-commerce, and employment law.
- Native-level Mandarin and fluent English proficiency (written and spoken).
- Ability to engage effectively with internal stakeholders at all levels, manage heavy workflows, competing priorities, and communicate complex legal issues clearly and persuasively.
- Strong commercial acumen, excellent drafting and negotiation skills, and a problem-solving mindset.
- Ability to operate independently in a fast-paced, high-growth environment while aligning with global legal strategy.
- Experience working in a multinational company with executive management overseas.
- Ability to collaborate with diverse teams across different functions and cultures.
- Detail-oriented with a high degree of rigor and accuracy in work.
- Strong work ethic and self-starter, with a growth-oriented mindset..
- Familiarity with programmatic advertising, real-time bidding, and cookie/IDFA frameworks.
- Experience navigating cross-border legal matters and collaborating across time zones.
- Exposure to global privacy regimes (GDPR, CCPA) and platform governance topics.
- Both law firm and in-house experience are preferred.
- Experience with Salesforce, Ironclad, Slack, DocuSign, and contract lifecycle management systems.
