To learn more, visit .GENERAL SUMMARY OF POSITIONThe (Executive) Director, Portfolio Management – APAC is responsible for defining, governing, and executing the regional portfolio strategy for the Protective Packaging business. This role provides end‑to‑end ownership of portfolio performance across lifecycle stages, including strategy, investment prioritization, new product introduction (NPI), commercialization, pricing, and profitability.The position serves as a critical interface between regional leadership, global portfolio teams, sales, R&D, supply chain, and sourcing functions to ensure alignment with enterprise strategy, financial objectives, and growth priorities across the APAC region.Key Accountabilities1. Portfolio Strategy & Management
  • Define and execute the APAC portfolio strategy through market segmentation, vertical prioritization, and differentiated value propositions.
  • Identify target industries, applications, and customer segments, ensuring clear portfolio positioning and competitive differentiation.
  • Allocate resources and investments across portfolio lines to optimize growth, profitability, and return on investment.
  • Develop and guide go‑to‑market strategies for each portfolio, aligned with regional and global business objectives.
2. Portfolio Rationalization & Lifecycle Management
  • Continuously evaluate the portfolio mix to ensure strategic focus, differentiation, and scalability.
  • Lead portfolio rationalization efforts to prioritize high‑value offerings and redeploy resources from low‑return or non‑strategic products.
  • Own portfolio lifecycle decisions, including Invest, Maintain, Harvest, and Exit, ensuring disciplined execution aligned with business strategy.
3. Demand Planning & Commercial Support
  • Drive demand planning and forecasting through market, customer, and application analysis in close collaboration with sales and supply chain teams.
  • Ensure effective product support, including technical and application support, quotation guidance, and development of sales enablement tools to improve sales effectiveness.
4. New Product Introduction (NPI) & InnovationCustomer & Market Insights
  • Capture and translate customer voice, market insights, and unmet needs into innovation priorities, NPI pipelines, and portfolio roadmaps.
Local NPI Development
  • Own and lead local NPI development from ideation through business case, R&D development, manufacturing readiness, and cost optimization.
  • Establish and continuously improve robust local NPI governance, processes, and cross‑functional operating mechanisms.
NPI Commercialization
  • Lead global and local NPI commercialization in partnership with sales teams, including launch planning, training, enablement tools, performance tracking, and post‑launch support.
5. Revenue, Profitability & Pricing
  • Own revenue, cost, and profit targets for assigned portfolio lines, ensuring accountability for financial performance.
  • Drive portfolio growth through expansion into new customers, verticals, applications, and regions.
  • Lead pricing strategy development and execution by portfolio, vertical, and geography to maximize margin and value realization.
  • Oversee pricing governance, including discount approvals, annual price adjustments, price lists, and NPI pricing, while monitoring market, volume, and cost dynamics.
6. Executive & Cross‑Functional Alignment
  • Align portfolio strategy and execution with executive leadership to ensure consistency with overall business strategy, financial objectives, and investment priorities.
  • Partner closely with global portfolio teams to leverage global capabilities, platforms, and resources, improving efficiency and scalability.
  • Ensure strong alignment with Supply Chain, R&D, and Sourcing teams—both locally and globally—to secure execution support, investments, and operational readiness.
QualificationsEducation
  • BA of Science or Technology, major in Applied Materials is preferred
Professional Experience
  • 15+ years of solid working experience of product management in industrial field, material industry preferred
  • Proven ability to translate market insights and customer behavioral data into actionable business strategies that drive measurable revenue growth.
  • Experience developing strategies that increase NTS, market coverage, and repeat purchases through product, pricing, and bundling innovation.
  • Demonstrated ability to clearly communicate the unique value proposition through managing product life circle in segmented market / customer clusters
  • Skilled at defining metrics, building frameworks for forecasting and measurement, and communicating insights that drive action.
  • Deep analytical fluency, and understanding how product mix and purchase behavior impact business outcomes.
  • Strong cross-functional influence, with demonstrated success partnering across Portfolio, Sales, Finance, R&D and Supply Chain to achieve shared goals.
  • Thrives in fast-paced, high-growth environments and brings clarity in complex, cross-functional situations.
  • Excellent communicator and storyteller, capable of distilling complex data and business context for executives and boards.
  • Experienced people leader who has built, developed and retained high performing teams.
