Munich Re Beijing Branch, part of Munich Re, the world's largest reinsurer, is looking for an experienced Life and Health Claims Manager who can provide technical expertise and managing claims across Greater China. You will ensure delivery of efficient claims, overall risk assessment, training and risk management services to the clients, while maintaining quality and efficiency of reports related to claims and operations.You will be based in Beijing and will report to the Operations Head, Life and Health.YOUR ROLE
  • Handle daily claim cases and making correct decisions within the granted authority
  • Maintain good relationship with clients and answer their questions. Organize and conduct claims training and seminars for clients.
  • Support to the Chief Underwriter/Operation Head in client management, product development, claims auditing
  • Participate in business development and other in-depth consulting projects
  • Organize and deliver risk management services according to the risk management plan and client prioritization; ensure documentation of claims work
  • Assess and make decisions for life and health claims in accordance with the risk assessment authority granted; assist other claims assessors with cases that exceed their authority
  • Improve risk management processes and standards, promote new concepts and international best practices
  • Conduct claims audits and write audit reports
  • Research market development, client needs changes, medical advances and technical development
  • Be the Centre of Competence in at least one functional area (e.g. CI claim, LTC claim, DI claim) ; provide training and guidance to other team members in your area of expertise
YOUR PROFILE
  • Bachelor's degree and professional designations (e.g. CLU, FALU, FLMI) required, medical education background.
  • At least 10 years' experience in claims handling of life, disability, critical illness and health risks
  • Experience in product development, business administration, project and client relationship management preferred
  • Excellent problem solving skills and research capabilities
  • Strong communication and presentation skills
  • Good team player
  • Proficient in both spoken and written English and Mandarin
