You light the way.More about the roleThis is an exciting job opportunity for you to light the way as a Mechanical Architect in Shanghai with Signify.The Mechanical Architect will be responsible for designing and developing mechanical platforms, ensuring functionality, reliability, and compliance with industry standards. This role requires a blend of creative engineering solutions, analytical thinking, problem solving and collaboration with internal and external teams.Lead and create innovative mechanical designs for new platforms and new products. Bring the design concepts, verify and release within quality, timing and cost targets. * Work closely with research and industry eco-system to implement cutting-edge technologies and methodologies to enhance product performance, manufacture efficiency and cost.
  • Stay strong connection with industry on new material, new process development, bring insights to business and implement in product design.
  • ​Lead initiative with engineers to work on mechanical technical challenges, from problem statement to solution implementation.
  • Coach and provide guidance to mechanical engineers on mechanical competence and key technology challenges.
More about youWhile we value and appreciate all applicants, we believe that the following experience and skills will be needed to shine brightly in this job opening:
  • Bachelor or Master degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field. Experience in luminaire will be a plus.
  • 5+ years in hands-on mechanical design and development. Strong understanding of mechanical design principles, materials and manufacturing processes. Expert in certain mechanical domain will be a plus.
  • Proficiency in CAD software, 2D/3D modeling, DFMEA, tolerance analysis, design for manufacturing.
  • Proven track record of leading teams of projects successfully.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills for effective collaboration and mentorship.
  • Ability to write and speak in English.
