- The Product Quality Engineer (PQE) is responsible for ensuring the product performance and product quality information meets or exceeds customer expectations.
- The PQE monitors the manufacturing processes and improves the process and material controls necessary to maintain consistent product performance. The position requires knowledge of raw material & product characterization, formulation design, and manufacturing processes. The PQE must be able to communicate quality information clearly to customers to support the business.
- This role is expected to use statistical methods to ensure that product quality is maintained. This includes use of FMEA to identify quality risks along with SPC to ensure process control. The candidate is expected to be able to lead quality troubleshooting using root cause investigation techniques and develop effective corrective and preventive actions to resolve quality issues and prevent recurrence.
- This role is critical to the success of our business in an environment of ever-increasing customer expectations regarding product quality. And will work with R&D Scientists, Raw Material Engineers, Analytical Chemists, Process Development Engineers, and Manufacturing Engineers to accomplish their objectives
- Implement appropriate quality controls for specific products - implement specifications, control limits & trend rules in SPC software.
- Review intermediate & product control charts as part of the PCS (Process Control System) process. Investigate trends in product data, determine root cause, & implement corrective or improvement actions.
- Investigate & resolve out-of-control product parameters with batches in production.
- Lead Material Review Board meetings for product issues.
- Prepare qualification plan for changes led by quality team; help design qualification plan for changes owned by other functions.
- Investigate and resolve customer quality and performance complaints.
- Respond to customer requests regarding specification improvements and information on product manufacturing process (control plans, process flow, quality systems, etc).
- A minimum of BS degree in a technical discipline such as Chemistry, Materials or Engineering. Advanced degrees will be a plus.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in at least one of the following areas: quality engineering, formulation development, analytical science, statistics, process engineering, chemical manufacturing, semiconductor manufacturing.
- Experience working with customers and/or suppliers to resolve challenging technical problems under tight deadlines.
- Experience using formal problem-solving techniques (8D, FMEA, fishbone, 5 why, etc.) is desired.GB is a plus
- Effectively communicates verbally and written communications to team members, Especially English communication
