- Lead management of technical deviations and non-conforming parts arising from manufacturing processes and supplier inputs.
- Take independent and well-founded technical decisions regarding the acceptance, rework, deviation, or rejection of parts, including high-cost-impact decisions such as scrapping large batches.
- Ensure all technical decisions are timely, thoroughly documented, and compliant with company standards, customer requirements, legal regulations, and ISO norms.
- Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams including Quality, Production, Supply Chain, and R&D to perform root cause analyses and implement robust corrective and preventive actions.
- Continuously improve technical decision workflows, safety instructions, and standard operating procedures to enhance operational excellence.
- Support to Exploration Business, Competitor Insight & Future Product Development
- Provide strategic support through competitor analysis, reverse engineering activities, on-site field visits, and direct customer interactions, enabling tailored product offerings.
- Develop deep technical and market insights in key areas such as Diamond Tools, In-The-Hole (ITH) applications, and related product domains.
- Contribute decisively to defining and validating products designed "In China for China," addressing specific APAC market needs.
- Assist in driving innovation for new product lines, balancing premium quality with cost-competitive solutions.
- Share up-to-date market and technical knowledge with cross-functional teams to guide product strategy effectively.

- Identify opportunities to improve quality, reduce costs, increase efficiency, and enhance robustness across production engineering processes.
- Champion digitalization projects and adoption of new engineering tools and technologies to modernize operations.

- Safety & Compliance
- Ensure all engineering activities strictly adhere to company policies, legal requirements, and established safety standards.

- Additional Duties
- Perform other responsibilities as assigned by management to support overall departmental objectives and company goals.
- Provide hands-on production and factory engineering support focusing on Bill of Materials (BOM), routing, and Master Data management to streamline manufacturing processes.
- Support the qualification of customers and facilitate the regionalization strategy to enhance market penetration and responsiveness.
- Conduct proactive training sessions and inspections (e.g., outside diameter rework and site visits) to ensure product reliability and operational excellence.
- Drive local development and sourcing efforts for diamond and "In-The-Hole" tools tailored specifically for the Chinese market.
- Anticipate and address potential resource gaps proactively to minimize the need for management escalation in technical matters.
- Strategic Impact: Act as a critical bridge between global R&D and the APAC region, directly influencing the success of the regionalization strategy and making measurable contributions to company growth.
- Autonomy & Visibility: Operate with considerable local ownership and decision-making authority, solving complex technical challenges with a visible impact and preventing unnecessary managerial interventions.
- Market-Focused Growth: Gain comprehensive experience by working end-to-end on initiatives that support the "In China, For China" project, broadening your expertise in local sourcing, product development, and customer engagement in a dynamic market environment.
- Bachelor's degree or higher in Mechanical Engineering or a related engineering discipline, with preference given to candidates with a background in mining or exploration.
- Between 5 to 10 years of relevant experience in manufacturing or an industrial engineering environment, demonstrating strong technical decision-making capabilities that affect cost, quality, and delivery.
- Hands-on knowledge in product engineering, production support, industrial quality control, BOM, routing, and master data management.
- Experience troubleshooting technical issues and machine reprogramming is highly valued; experience in diamond tool development, powder sourcing, and recipe management is particularly desirable.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with an ability to make structured, well-reasoned decisions under pressure.
- Strong communication skills in English and the local language, facilitating collaboration with diverse teams.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and modern digital tools to support engineering and data management tasks.
- Demonstrated autonomy, accountability, and ownership of technical decisions, comfortable managing difficult but necessary choices independently.
- Proactive and pragmatic approach driven by continuous improvement and strong safety awareness.
- Ability to navigate complex organizational structures, coordinating effectively between local and global stakeholders.
