This role involves careful inspection, testing oversight, resolving issues, and auditing processes to maintain high-quality standards. The individual will act as the main contact between the client and the company for quality control, issue escalation, and compliance checks.Responsibilities:Material Control & Warehouse Inspection
  • Check material control processes in the warehouse, workshop, and storage areas.
  • Ensure raw materials are received, stored, and handled according to specifications and standards.
  • Verify raw material certifications and maintain proper documentation.
  • Ensure materials are correctly tagged and stored for traceability.
Welding & Fabrication Quality Oversight
  • Review welder qualifications to ensure they follow approved procedures.
  • Inspect welding processes, including manual and automatic techniques.
  • Ensure compliance with welding procedures and heat treatment processes.
  • Monitor machining, forming, and pre-assembly activities for components.
Non-Destructive Examination (NDE) & Visual Inspections
  • Conduct visual inspections of images/videos or live inspections when needed.
  • Review and interpret radiographic film results.
  • Assess non-conformance and weld repair reports, ensuring effective corrective actions.
  • Witness NDE testing procedures like ultrasonic testing, magnetic particle inspection, dye penetrant testing, and radiographic examination.
  • Oversee pressure tests and validate test equipment calibration before testing.
  • Approve hydrostatic and pneumatic test results.
Process & Procedural Compliance
  • Ensure adherence to Inspection & Test Plans (ITPs) for all review points.
  • Audit quality control personnel qualifications to confirm compliance with standards.
  • Witness polishing and post-testing processes like pickling and passivation.
  • Conduct random checks during fabrication and assembly to identify potential issues early.
Pre-Shipment & Equipment Release Oversight
  • Monitor pre-shipment packaging to prevent damage during transport.
  • Witness final inspections before dispatch to ensure equipment meets requirements.
  • Verify load-out procedures, ensuring proper securing of equipment for transport.
Reporting & Issue Escalation
  • Provide daily reports summarizing key inspection findings and concerns.
  • Prepare weekly summary reports with photos and documented observations.
  • Immediately escalate critical quality issues to management for resolution.
  • Maintain a log of non-conformities and track corrective actions to closure.
Qualifications
  • Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Quality Assurance, or Industrial Engineering.
  • 10+ years in fabrication inspection, quality control, and vendor surveillance in relevant sectors.
  • Experience overseeing pressure vessel, piping, and mechanical equipment fabrication.
  • Proficiency in ISO 9001, ASME, AWS, JIS, and other quality standards.
  • Expertise in NDT methods (RT, UT, MPI, DPT).
  • Strong knowledge of welding techniques, material traceability, and structural integrity.
  • Ability to interpret engineering drawings, P&IDs, and ITPs.
  • Proficiency in report writing and documentation review.
  • Fluent in English and Chinese/Mandarin
