Our client is a respected manufacturing organization that produces high-quality furniture, operating from their primary production facility in Shanghai with commercial operations spanning the US and Japan markets globally.The RoleWe are partnering with our client to identify a seasoned CFO who will spearhead their financial operations through an exciting expansion period. This represents a unique chance for a results-driven finance executive to create meaningful change within a fast-paced manufacturing setting. The successful candidate will collaborate extensively with an international leadership group while establishing strong financial frameworks to advance the organization's strategic goals.Primary DutiesFinancial Leadership & Reporting
  • Deliver strategic financial guidance to CEO/COO and key stakeholders
  • Develop consolidated financial statements spanning multiple jurisdictions (China and US)
  • Build and sustain comprehensive management reporting frameworks
  • Oversee annual budget development across all territories and perform monthly variance reviews
Audit & Compliance
  • Enhance internal control systems and deploy financial governance policies
  • Oversee external audit coordination and maintain audit preparedness
  • Facilitate due diligence activities for potential strategic exit opportunities
  • Handle statutory and group audit obligations
Operations & Process Improvement
  • Partner with ERP, production, and sales departments on operational improvements
  • Enhance daily accounting workflows and consolidated reporting methods
  • Lead cross-departmental initiatives to optimize financial operations
  • Manage monthly inventory coordination with production and warehouse operations
Team Leadership
  • Guide and cultivate the finance organization across accounting and planning areas
  • Develop team capabilities and strengthen organizational financial expertise
  • Build strong cross-departmental working relationships
RequirementsProfessional Credentials
  • Professional accounting certification (China, US, or Japan CPA)
  • 3-5 years background in financial reporting and management accounting
  • Demonstrated expertise in audit functions (external auditor or internal audit leadership)
  • Track record with consolidated reporting and multi-entity financial statements
Technical Competencies
  • Professional fluency in Chinese and English (comprehensive reading, writing, speaking)
  • Manufacturing sector experience, especially within China operations
  • Advanced proficiency in financial systems and ERP solutions
  • Experience with international sales operations
  • Japanese communication skills (conversational proficiency or above)
  • Expert-level Excel/spreadsheet modeling skills
  • Proven budget creation and variance analysis capabilities
