- Product life cycle management – Identify and understand customer needs throughout the product lifecycle. Prepare, execute, design, build, and maintain the product from inception to release. Conduct market research to understand customer requirements and define the product roadmap. Analyze competitors and interpret data to inform product development.
- Product P&L – With strategic direction and support from Senior Leadership, is responsible for helping manage the overall profitability of the business through gross profit (average selling price / manufacturing cost management with Sales and Supply Chain) Keeps track of actual material costs and helps manage pricing strategy for the region and for key accounts as needed; recommends acceptable price ranges; implements price increases as needed; approves deviation requests; works with Sales team to profitably grow business. Manages competitive pricing insights and utilizes information for best market positioning.
- Product marketing management – Identify key benefits and value propositions of the product. Participates in strategy development; understands and helps support key marketing programs; ensures that we have the correct portfolio in place to allow sales to execute key growth programs
- Manages mid and long-term capacity – Makes sure we have adequate capacity where needed to achieve sales forecast by reviewing and formulating the short and long term demand forecast; champions capital expenditure approval for business; works with Supply Chain & I&D as needed to investigate/execute new manufacturing processes & platforms
- Partners across teams & functions to drive execution – Works closely with Manufacturing, I&D, Marketing, & Sales teams to understand business needs, prioritizes initiatives to optimize the portfolio and facilitate execution of strategies to improve profitability and grow the business
- Lead a cross-functional team to ensure seamless product execution. Supports key customer/commercial engagements and trials
- Ability to quickly learn, to enable the identification of future market trends, insights and customer needs and turning this into product strategies.
- Bachelor’s degree majoring in Chemistry or Materials is highly preferred.
- At least 5 years professional product management experience.
