- Own Blizzard China’s communications strategy end‑to‑end ensuring alignment with global communications strategy and Blizzard leadership priorities.
- Serve as Blizzard’s senior communications authority with the local publishing partner, setting strategic direction, expectations, and approvals for Blizzard and its franchises.
- Define, govern, and approve communications plans and materials, exercising final judgment to ensure alignment with Blizzard’s global standards, tone, values, and risk posture.
- Lead Blizzard Communications in China, representing the function with authority, credibility, and a clear point of view across the Shanghai office and regional and global forums.
- Lead integrated communications planning and execution for moments requiring close collaboration, including BlizzCon and other global tentpole events.
- Own Blizzard’s corporate and executive communications strategy in China, including executive visibility, speaking opportunities, and leadership positioning, in close coordination with global communications leads.
- Own internal communications strategy for Blizzard China, ensuring employees are informed, aligned, and engaged through clear narratives, consistent cadence, and strong partnership with regional and global stakeholders.
- Define success metrics and reporting frameworks for Blizzard China communications, delivering post‑moment readouts that assess performance, risks, and learnings across franchise, corporate, and internal communications.
- Build and maintain strategic relationships with local media, key opinion leaders, and vendors to support Blizzard’s priorities and long‑term reputation.
- Is accountable for performance, structure, and capability building for one direct report, including coaching, development planning, and ensuring strong execution and functional excellence on the ground.
- Own the Blizzard China communications budget with accountability for forecasting, tracking, and effective allocation of resources.
- Ensure China‑specific considerations are surfaced early in global planning, providing strategic counsel on feasibility, risk, and local execution to global teams.
- Lead Blizzard China issues and reputation management, providing strategic guidance on China‑specific sensitivities and player sentiment.
- Establish clear operating rhythms, documentation, and processes to enable effective collaboration, decision‑making, and execution across Blizzard and partner teams.
- Represent Blizzard Communications thoughtfully and credibly in cross‑functional, regional, and global leadership forums.
- 10+ years of experience in communications, public relations, corporate communications, or a related field, with demonstrated experience operating in or with China‑based markets.
- Deep understanding of China’s media, digital, regulatory, and cultural landscape, ideally within a partner‑led or joint‑venture operating model.
- Proven experience owning communications strategy and reputation management for a global brand in a local market.
- Strong judgment and discretion when navigating sensitive, complex, or high‑risk topics.
- Experience working cross‑functionally with senior leaders, legal, marketing, publishing, and external partners.
- Demonstrated ability to lead through influence and authority in matrixed and complex organizational environments.
- Experience leading issues management, reputation management, or crisis communications.
- Track record of building strong relationships with media, partners, agencies, and internal stakeholders.
- Fluent in Mandarin and English, with strong written and verbal communication skills in both languages.
- Operates with a high degree of ownership, accountability, and sound judgment.
