The Marriott Development Planning and Feasibility function in China focuses on providing competitive insights to support the decision-making process of various disciplines within the organization, such as Development, Brand and Operations. Primarily, the team is responsible for producing in-depth market and financial evaluations of potential business opportunities for all Marriott lodging products in China to support the Company in achieving its expansion goals in new markets and long-range growth strategy.Job responsibilities will include, but will not be limited to, the following:
- Project Underwriting:
- Carry out market research and competitive assessment through conducting field work, site inspection and interviews;
- Formulate brand & facilities program recommendations;
- Conduct financial analyses & projections;
- Author market study reports ;
- Conduct renovation and repositioning analyses for existing hotels;
- Brand Development:
- Translate English development marketing materials into Chinese;
- Support new brand launch in China by conducting competitive landscape research;
- Strategic Review & Research:
- Case studies for repositioning and renovation;
- Gather owner and real estate intelligence;
- Gather industry and competitor intelligence; and
- Participate in and support projects related to development strategies.
- Education:
- Bachelor’s degree or above;
- Working Experience:
- Experience in hotel consulting and/or development planning and feasibility;
- Required Skills:
- In-depth knowledge of the hotel industry, specifically of hotel brands and their market positioning;
- General understanding of the real estate industry, including hotel valuation and investment analysis;
- Excellent quantitative and qualitative analytical skills;
- Strong command of English and Mandarin a must;
- Strong Excel and financial modeling, written and verbal presentation skills;
- Keen attention-to-detail, strong interpersonal and organizational skills;
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with multiple priorities; and
- Ability to travel extensively.
