- Serve as strategic business partner to business units and functions and provide compliance leadership and guidance to the stakeholders as they launch business/function strategies/programs to bring life-saving medicines to patients throughout the geography, which is based on a thorough understanding of business/function strategies, RDPAC code, global and affiliate policies/procedures.
- Understand field-based interpretation (actual implementation) of business/function strategies and ensure effective implementation of compliance programs.
- Leverage “seat at table” – provide meaningful contribution to business discussions and decisions, beyond E&C perspectives, at critical leadership/staff meetings, including PBRC, BULT, L3/L4/L5, etc.
- Partner with E&C COE team to conduct risk-based monitoring. Subsequently, based on findings and observations, support business partners to design and implement CAPAs with accurate root-cause analyses, which enable business ownership of corrective and preventive actions.
- Partner with E&C COE team to provide training and communication to stakeholders.
- Approach work with the intention of being a positive Team Lilly role model in order to influence above, across, and below in the organization. This will require concerted effort in developing facilitation skills, in maintaining composure during heated debates, in inviting curiosity for new initiatives/approaches to business practices, in advising beyond traditional E&C-related areas, and in sharing information (keeping in mind timeliness and appropriateness).
- Lead and support global/affiliate projects where necessary.

- Work Experiences:
- 10+ years’ experience in ethics and compliance, or legal roles within the pharmaceutical industry, other healthcare experience, and/or consumer/brand promotion.
- Critical Skills:
- Excellent learning agility and capability to navigate novel and complex situations.
- Ability to independently develop solutions that generate value through partnerships while ensuring compliance.
- Ability to establish trust relationships and communicate with all levels of organization, external third parties, and to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams across the enterprise.
- Ability to influence credibly without authority.
- Maturity of thinking developed through either direct or supporting involvement in driving organizational-change-management (OCM), including the design and cascading of communications in large organizations
- Demonstrates excellent business judgment, ability to make decisions, and pragmatic approach to problem solving.
- Language Skills:
- Fluency in Mandarin and in English (for framing arguments logically, and with sensitivity regarding good documentation).
- Other Considerations:
- Advanced degree in law, business, or a related field strongly preferred
- Proven track record of success in an environment that demands a sound understanding of the need to balance complex legal and compliance issues.
- Previous people leadership experience as plus.
