Operations Manager (m/f/d)

• Strategic & Site Management

• Promotes the long-term development of the site and proactively contributes to the development of the site strategy.
• Cooperates closely with the SBF (Special Business Field) Head, Product Management, and Sales to implement operation strategies and innovation roadmaps.
• Ensures alignment of the site with SCHOTT's vision, mission, strategy, and values.
• Ensures compliance with the SCHOTT Code of Conduct, as well as other internal policies, standards, and regulations.
• Represents the site locally, acting together with the Managing Director as a key contact for local authorities, institutions, and employees on site. Ensures effective and positive cooperation with employee representatives, such as works councils or unions. * Production, Supply Chain & Operations

• Ensures reliable delivery of goods and services to the business unit or customers in the required quantity, quality, delivery time, and at agreed costs.
• Initiates, drives, and ensures sustainable development and implementation of improved production, supply chain, and production service processes.
• Ensures timely and efficient production while considering cost targets, quality standards, customer requirements, and capacity constraints. * Lean Manufacturing

• Arranges for processes to be designed according to Lean Operations principles and ensures compliance with these principles.
• Implements Lean Operations and oversees execution of corresponding processes. * Quality Management

• Ensures effective quality management, including adherence to quality standards, customer requirements, and continuous quality improvement across production and supply chain activities. * EHS & Safety

• Ensures compliance with local laws and internal operational guidelines, including EHS and job safety, acting on behalf of management when they are not directly represented, while management retains authority to issue directives.
• Develops new EHS improvement concepts or enhances existing ones in close cooperation with the BU (Business Unit) EHS representative, ensuring their implementation. * Leadership & Team Development

• Leads, develops, and motivates employees within the area of responsibility. * Other Duties

• Performs other duties as assigned.

• University Degree in Engineering, Materials Science, Physics, or Industrial Engineering
• More than 10 years of experience in operations management, including production, supply chain or production services (quality, maintenance, engineering, process development); Minimum 5 years of experience in production management.
• Excellent command of English and Chinese language. German language skills are a plus.
• Extensive knowledge of Lean and EHS. Six Sigma qualifications are preferred.
