- Develop and deliver piping system designs, including layouts, isometrics, material specifications, and stress analysis, ensuring compliance with project requirements and applicable standards.
- Prepare and review calculations, such as pipe wall thickness, flexibility, and support loads, to ensure system integrity and safety.
- Generate and maintain piping deliverables, including P&IDs, line lists, material take-offs (MTOs), and valve schedules.
- Provide technical support to the engineering team, ensuring alignment with project objectives and resolving design-related issues.
- Assist in the selection of piping materials, components, and equipment, considering cost, availability, and project constraints.
- Support sales and procurement activities by providing technical input on piping systems and equipment.
- Collaborate with other disciplines (e.g., process, structural, mechanical) to ensure piping designs are fully integrated and meet project requirements.
- Address and resolve interface issues to avoid rework and ensure smooth project execution.
- Participate in design reviews, HAZOPs, and constructability reviews, implementing feedback and lessons learned
- Provide technical support during fabrication, installation, and commissioning of piping systems, ensuring compliance with design intent and addressing site queries.
- Conduct inspections and reviews at fabrication yards and construction sites to verify quality and adherence to specifications.
- Assist in resolving technical issues during pre-commissioning and commissioning phases..
- Ensure compliance with international standards and regulations (e.g., ASME B31.3, API, ISO, DNV, NORSOK) and client specifications.
- Ensure proper documentation and handover of piping deliverables, including as-built drawings and test records.
- Monitor and control piping-related engineering changes, ensuring traceability and approval of deviations or variations.
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Piping Engineering, or a related discipline.
- 5-10 years of experience in piping design and engineering within the offshore oil and gas industry.
- Hands-on experience with piping design, stress analysis, and material selection.
- Site and fabrication experience, including knowledge of construction and commissioning practices.
- Proficiency in piping design tools and software
- 3D modeling: AVEVA E3D, PDMS, AutoCAD Plant 3D
- Drafting: AutoCAD
- Strong understanding of international piping codes and standards (e.g., ASME B31.3, API, ISO, DNV, NORSOK).
- Knowledge of piping materials, welding, and fabrication techniques.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent communication skills in English, both written and verbal.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a multi-disciplinary team environment.
- Proficiency in MS Office tools (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Willingness to travel to fabrication yards and construction sites as required.
