Job Description:ScientistHuntsman’s Performance Products division is now looking for a Scientist. This role is to provide technical development & application support for the chemical intermediates, chemicals or chemical solutions used in industries including semiconductor, display, and Lithium-ion batteries.This role will work closely with cross-functional team members including Marketing & Commercial to keep the technology objectives in line with the business priorities & growth plans.This role is an individual contributor and located in Huntsman Shanghai Campus.As the Scientist, your responsibilities are:Safety
  • Operate lab & technical support activities fully compliance with Huntsman’s EH&S policy and strive for continuous improvement in safety performance.
Technical support and delivery of R&D project
  • Carry out lab evaluations to identify value proposition and develop application data with existing product and/or new product promotion in line with business objectives.
  • Investigate customer needs and develop an in-depth understanding of industry technologies and applications, work closely with global/regional synthesis team to develop new products and new technology to meet market needs.
Technical support for regional business development
  • Provide high quality technical service to customers. Identify and foster join-development opportunities with high potential customers by using global HPP product and application technology.
  • Maintain close working relationships with regional commercial team and distributors, provide sufficient support in technical inquiries, feedback, product training, joint customer call, etc.
  • Contribute to business promotion through actively participating in company or industry seminars, roadshow, etc., and develop product promotion tools together with marketing team.
Skills and experiences required:
  • Advanced degree, preferably Master or above degree in Chemistry, Material Science or other chemical-related fields. A degree in electrochemistry, or analytical chemistry, is highly preferred.
  • Chemical industry experience in R&D related area, MNC company working experience is preferable.
  • Strong knowledge of Chemistry, or Material science. Knowledge and experience with processing chemicals such as polishing/grinding, etching, corrosion, cleaning, is highly preferred.
  • Application knowledge of electronics industries such as integrated circulates, photovoltaic, Lithium-ion batteries, is a plus.
  • Ability to break down problems into cause and effect elements, utilize structured tools to solve basic problems.
  • Ability to self-manage work programs under general direction from line manager and communicate widely and efficiently within the team.
  • Ability to communicate and interact effectively with all levels of the organization as a member of the technical team.
  • Ability to have good interface with customers for problem solving and explore new opportunities through lab project.
  • Ability to work as part of a high-energy team with members of diverse backgrounds.
  • Proficient of both English and Mandarin orally and written.
