Sr (VAVE) Project EngineerPosition Title: VAVE Sr. Project Engineer (based in Zhongshan)BASIC FUNCTION
Perform Product cost out opportunity in a target-oriented manner through VAVE methodology and cost analytics. Work with cross functional teams to identify the Products for cost out, analyze and execute the Cost reduction VAVE projects.SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES1. Perform cost out opportunity mining exercises by pareto analysis, competitor benchmarking and tear down etc.
2. Apply VAVE methodologies and identify cost reduction opportunities.
3. Perform cost benefit analysis and finalize annualized savings for given project.
4.Prepare alternate design concept models and drawings using Creo software. Coordinate the development and verification testing of modified designs.
5. Create BOMs and engineering change requests and release the revised designs in Windchill database and SAP.
6.Work with cross function team and make sure the product changes are in line with the codes and standards and customer value proposition.
7. Document all the activities as per ISO requirements and report to the Stake holders on recommended frequency.Skills/RequirementsEDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS1. Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering from an ABET accredited university
2. A minimum of 4 years related work experience in execution of cost reduction VA/VE, Continuous Design Improvement projects.
3. Demonstrated ability to drive solid engineering solution to complex problems.
4. Good knowledge of manufacturing processes such as brass and zinc casting, extrusion, machining, and plastic injection molding.
5. Demonstrated expertise to apply DFx (manufacturability, assembly, serviceability, safety, cost) knowledge to mechanical design.
6. Must have good communication to work globally with cross function teams.
