Stewardship Manager, Agricultural Solutions

• Lead and develop the product stewardship strategy and initiatives for BASF's crop protection and Professional & Specialty Solutions (P&SS) portfolio in China, ensuring alignment with BASF's commitment to the safe, responsible, and sustainable use of its product portfolio.
• Lead the design and steer the implementation of product stewardship activities in alignment with the strategic partnership with the Public and Governmental Affairs function for maintaining BASF's reputation as a leader in agricultural innovation while ensuring the protection of users, the environment, consumers, and the broader agricultural community.
• Represent BASF in external industry related to stewardship of crop protection and public health products in China.

• Lead the development and implementation of product stewardship strategy and program in China to ensure safe handling (storage, distribution, use and disposal) of BASF's crop protection and Professional & Specialty Solutions (P&SS) products in line with BASF's sustainability and safety commitments.
• Drive the collaboration amongst cross-function teams (Marketing, Regulatory, PGA, Sales etc.) on the development and implementation of strategic and market specific stewardship initiatives, aligned with portfolio requirements and business priorities.
• Actively share new insights and manage key issues related to stewardship with relevant stakeholders, while ensuring prompt reporting of activities and incidents.
• Continuously evaluate, update and ramp up BASF Agricultural Solutions stewardship initiatives and programs based on feedback and best practices to support sustainable agricultural practices and ensure safety and well-being of farmers as well as minimizing impact to the environment.
• Keep abreast of developments on product stewardship related trends e.g. emerging innovation and technologies in farming practices, sustainability and related policies on environmental, health and safety etc. to continually evolve and improve stewardship programs aligned with business priorities.
• Foster a culture of awareness and accountability regarding product stewardship best practices throughout the Agricultural Solutions organization in China by implementing customized and innovative programs with guidance from region and global (e.g., Country Stewardship Plan, product stewardship training etc.)
• Ensure consistent improvement on incident reporting by creating the awareness/ conduct annual refresher training on incident reporting processes to AP China colleagues.

• Master's degree in agriculture or related sciences
• Bachelor's degree to be compensated by experiences

• At least 3 years' experience in stewardship and/or strategic roles such as advocacy, communications and regulatory affairs in Agricultural Pesticides.
• Experience and network in dealing with product issues in the agricultural industry.
• Preferably network in Authorities, Government structures, Research institutes, Advisors, etc.

• Good knowledge of stewardship and product safety management topics and processes in agriculture.
• Good knowledge in scientific use of pesticides.
• General Knowledge of the regulatory procedures, registration processes, risk assessment and so on.
• Preferably basic knowledge of crop protection industry: technical, commercial, farming techniques, crop specific issues, GAP's etc.
