We hope that you will join our team.We are looking to hire a trader to drive the growth of our Tapioca Starch business in China.The candidate will be responsible for developing and maintaining a sales (B2B) network throughout China in Tapioca Starch.Location: Guangzhou, ChinaTasks & Responsibilities:· Analyze tapioca starch demand/supply in China to identify trading opportunities.· Present commercial ideas and strategy to the wider regional team.· Manage sales targets of Tapioca Starch in domestic and internation flows.· Maintain consistent communication with clients about risk management, financing, warehousing and logistics etc.· Supply internal team and external clients with market information to ensure better decision making.· Closely collaborate with the Singapore, London, Thailand and Vietnam team to form buying or selling decisions.· Coordinate with Operations team to handle settlement of contracts and execution of trade.· Conduct negotiations on buying or selling activities.· Creating contracts after successful trades.· Handle quality complaints if required.· Maintain relationship with customs officials.We are looking for someone with the following skillset and attributes:Essential:· Bachelors’ degree.· Understand regional Tapioca Starch supply and demand to assist with business development areas.· A high degree of analytical, numerical and statistical skills.· Minimum 3 years of working experience in a Tapioca Starch importing and/or trade house environment.· Minimum 3 years of working experience in a commodity trading environment.· Solid understanding of INCOTERMS.· Proficient in Microsoft Office software.· Ability to collaborate with others, plan & priorities activities to deliver against competing deadlines.· Exceptional problem-solving skills with the ability to untangle complex issues.Desirable:· Excellent personality with entrepreneurial and proactive attitude.· Strong communication, negotiation and presentation skills.· Fast learner and able to work under pressure.· Strong decision-making orientation.· Adaptable to changing environment.· Fluent in written and spoken English.· Ability to act with integrity when dealing with confidential matters.· Experience in risk management, financing, warehousing and logistics.
