Identify new business opportunities aligning with automotive strategic directions.
Design solution to secure successful incubator for sales growth in target segment/application:

Market understanding of trend and needs from industry
Customer demanding clarification and competitors analysis
Value chain penetration and solution position
Solution design through co-work with internal stakeholders like R&D, PLM…
Support solution implementation to secure successful transfer to commercial process
Propose new Product Development projects under stage-gate process
Propose collaborations with Academia, Consulting Consortia or Entrepreneurial free agents
Identify and propose strategic Partnerships ideas (JDA, JV, acquisitions…)

Marketing / communication activities 10%

Lead public event and customer event with well project managing and clear expected output
Strengthen market positon/branding influence via co-work with Marcom

Reporting / internal communication and processes 10%

Salesforce utilization to monitor NBD proceeding
Timely report – weekly update & BD monthly/yearly report
Solid report by technology, application, and market
Efficient exchange with Global/Regional/Country commercial teams and cross-functional teams to leverage resources and knowledge

Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree in Adhesives, Polymers, Polymer Engineering, Polymer Processing or Materials Science is preferred; MS or PhD is a plus. MBA is also a plus
Minimum of 5 years of successful Business Development experience required in adhesive industry and/or Automotive industry
Proven experience working through matrix organization, pushing global initiatives to the marketplace
Excellent personal and interpersonal working skills
Good presentation and communication skill
Excellent oral and written communication in English
Good in MS Office, Salesforce, LinkedIn, web-site navigation and CRM software
Travel 30% of the time
Location in Shanghai
