- Responsible for packaging graphic design for products, including full series designs such as cartons, instruction manuals, stickers, hang tags, and outer shipping cases.
- Lead the composition, layout, graphic creativity, and typography of packaging visuals, ensuring the design style aligns with the aesthetic preferences of domestic target consumers.
- Deliver differentiated visual solutions based on product characteristics across different age groups (0–3 years, 3+ years) and categories (educational, plush, electronic).
- Responsible for defining primary color tones and color matching schemes for new packaging. Leverage color psychology to apply safe, soft, lively, or brand‑recognizable color systems for infant and children’s products.
- Establish and maintain brand packaging color standards, ensuring color consistency across different print runs and suppliers.
- Monitor domestic and international color trends (e.g., Pantone Color of the Year, infant industry‑specific palettes) and translate them into packaging color strategies that align with the brand’s DNA.
- Conduct in‑depth research on packaging trends in the domestic toy and infant products market. Perform regular competitive analysis and publish design trend reports.
- Focus on consumer unboxing experience. Collaborate with packaging structural engineers to optimize information hierarchy, ensuring warning labels, instructions, and key selling points are both regulatory compliant and visually clear.
- Work closely with packaging structural engineers to ensure graphic designs are feasible and perfectly presented on special box shapes, custom die‑cut windows, and material selections.
- Interface with suppliers to manage pre‑press file preparation, die‑line verification, proof approval, color matching, and on‑press color sign‑off. Troubleshoot printing issues such as color deviation, misregistration, and material compatibility.
- Strictly verify packaging copy to ensure compliance with mandatory national standards regarding marking, warnings, and manufacturer information, mitigating regulatory risks.
- At least 3–5 years of experience in packaging graphic design, preferably in toys, infant products, consumer goods, or related industries.
- Proven experience in commercial packaging design for the China market, with strong understanding of local consumer aesthetics, retail shelf environments, and cultural preferences.
- Hands-on experience working with print suppliers and packaging manufacturers in China, including pre-press preparation and on-site color approval.
- Bachelor’s degree or above in Graphic Design, Visual Communication, Industrial Design (with design focus), or related field.
- Strong knowledge of color theory, typography, composition, and brand identity systems.
- Familiarity with printing processes (offset, gravure, flexo, screen printing), substrates (paperboard, corrugated, specialty materials), and surface finishing techniques (spot UV, embossing, foil stamping).
- Understanding of domestic packaging regulations and safety standards for infant and children’s products (e.g., GB/T labeling requirements, warning symbols, restricted substances).
- None required. Certification in color management (e.g., G7, Fogra) or design software is a plus.
- Proficient in Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign) for packaging artwork creation and pre-press production.
- Familiarity with die-line creation and editing in Illustrator or ArtiosCAD (structural collaboration).
- Highly proficient in Microsoft Excel for cost analysis and data tracking (e.g., material cost comparisons).
- Proficient in Microsoft PowerPoint and Word for design presentations and documentation.
- Ability to sit for extended periods during design work and visual reviews.
- Manual dexterity for handling physical packaging samples, mock-ups, and print proofs.
- Normal hearing and speaking ability for effective communication with internal teams and suppliers.
- Normal color vision is essential for accurate color matching and print quality evaluation.
