- Manage a team of Procurement professionals, setting goals and overseeing daily purchasing, sourcing and supplier management.
- Develop and execute purchasing and vendor management strategies that align with operational needs, team budget requirements, and broader functional objectives.
- Lead vendor negotiations to secure favourable terms, optimise pricing and ensure high-quality products and services across the business, supporting Procurement's cost-effectiveness and budgeting goals.
- Oversee contract management, including reviewing terms, ensuring compliance, and identifying opportunities for improvement, working closely with Legal & Compliance as necessary to secure the most favourable terms.
- Collaborate with teams across Supply Chain, Operations & Engineering, Sales & Marketing and Innovation & R&D to support demand forecasting, inventory planning and timely supply.
- Monitor key procurement metrics, including cost savings, supplier performance, and lead times, and produce and present reports to senior management to make recommendations and drive continuous improvement.
- Provide mentorship and career development support to team members, fostering a culture of excellence and growth.
- Degree in any discipline
- Minimum 8 years of procurement experience
- Strong understanding of the policies, objectives, operations and related activities within a Procurement Sub-Function or part of a Sub-Region.
- Specialist knowledge in purchasing and vendor management best practices, and broad knowledge of several related disciplines.
- Strong communication skills to persuade and influence assigned vendors and suppliers, and stakeholders.
- Able to converse fluently in both English & Mandarin
- Leads a team of Procurement Specialists and Coordinators within a plant/site and/or categories.
- Experience with procurement transformation is a plus.
- Accountable for meeting team targets, delegating work and managing resources within the team, including line management duties.
- Resolve purchasing-related issues that are complex or unusual, requiring original thought, research, new approaches and analytical techniques.
- Proven ability to significantly influence sub-functional / sub-regional outcomes through effective decision-making for assigned team.
- Guides applying existing principles and contributes insights to the development of new policies, processes and supplier relationships.
