
Drivetrain Component Design Engineer – Casting/Structure

- Lead casting and structure component design, including but not limited to collect VOC, discuss and align requirements, 3D modeling, structure FEA analysis, design verification, 2D drawing, field follow, tear down, OMSA, failure analysis, etc.
- Lead casting and structure component development, include but not limited to work w/ purchasing on quote and review, comprehensively assess the supply base and propose supplier, APQP, proceed Gateway review for sourcing decision, lead the development and validation, review PPAP, etc.
- Provide engineering support to drivetrain casting & structure component localization and development
- Closely work with global cross function team, including but not limited to Drivetrain system engineering team, NPI team, global engineering experts, purchasing team, receiving facility quality team, receiving facility manufacturing team, supply chain team, supplier, etc. to deliver qualified drivetrain components for the broad machine products
- Demonstrate strong customer focus to meet customer needs from PQVC by applying new technology, designing new component, improving manufacturing processes/methods, etc.
- The job involve global team night meeting and about 30% travel based on project need
- Education: Bachelor or Master in Mechanical Engineering, Vehicle Engineering, Material Science
- Analytical Thinking: Knowledge of techniques and tools that promote effective analysis; ability to determine the root cause of organizational problems and create alternative solutions that resolve these problems.

- Technical Excellence: Knowledge of a given technology and various application methods; ability to develop and provide solutions to significant technical challenges.
- Computer-Aided Design & Engineering: Knowledge of tools and techniques of specialized graphics programs(e.g. Creo, Creo Simulate for FEA, bolt joint analysis, etc.); ability to produce, analyze, simulate and test product design drafts.
- Product Design - MFG: Knowledge of process(e.g. casting, forging, machining, heat treatment, inspection), approaches, tools and techniques of product design; ability to convert customer and market requirements into product design.
- Product Design and Development: Knowledge of torque converter, transmission, axle, the casting and structure component features; ability to design, build, and develop a new product, technology, or service from concept through to production.
- Casting & Structure design background in construction/mining/energy/transportation machinery
- Drivetrain system and related components design and manufacturing experiences, especially for casting and structure component
- Good skill on using Creo to do 3D modeling and 2D drawing
- Good knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerance
- Familiar with quality management process and tools (APQP, PPAP, FMEA…)
- Good project management and risk management skill
- Fluent in English (reading, listening, writing and speaking)
- Strong presentation skill
- Good knowledge of drivetrain system include torque converter, transmission and axle, etc.
