Here’s the Gist:As the Sr. Applications Engineer, you will be responsible for lead the regional applications team to provide technical support for both existing and new customers in Asia. This position will also lead reference designs (AC/DC, DC/DC, DC/AC converters) using SiC devices for those targeted applications. A successful candidate will have a strong understanding of power converters and experience directly supporting customers with technical product specifications, product selection, system design, EMC, reliability, quality and manufacturing process. This position requires interaction with customers at all levels of system design/development, issue solving, components and quality engineering. The role will also be involved in the growth of our regional application laboratory as a competence center for the region and the Power Business Unit.The Day-to-Day:

With solid understanding on the EV fast charging, Solar inverter, ESS, IT power supply, UPS, motor drive and other key industrial power applications, the role will lead the China apps team to provide technical support through customer presentations and product demonstrations; Schematics review, PCB layout review, on-site issue-solving, answering technical inquiries, providing system level proposals/analysis to secure the design Ins/Wins of SiC discrete at key customers;
Be a leader in designing, developing, documenting reference and demonstration platforms for SiC Power product target applications, Answer technical inquiries from existing and prospective customers with proper documentation and timely feedback/analysis
Develop and present materials at technical seminars, tradeshows and distributor training
Support new product launches, including training for Wolfspeed sales engineers and regional channel partners
Provide consolidated customer requirements to define new products and product enhancements

This Job is Right for You if You Have (Minimum Requirements):

At least 10 years of experience with BS degree, 8 years of experience with MS degree, 5 years with PhD in Power Electronics;
Successful projects experience on digital controlled high power applications; Experience in schematics and PCB layout for high switching speed and high power applications, high-frequency magnetics, EMI/EMC, thermal and simulation tools (Spice, PLECS, etc) for power conversion
Solid understanding of power circuit topologies (AC/DC, DC/DC, DC/AC)
Prior experience in leading a power electronics design team
Strong oral and written communication and presentation skills
