- Manage customers’ RFI and RFQ to increase project winning rate
o Identify gaps and work with Product Engineer team to drive solution or alternative proposal
o Timely respond customer technical inquiries
- Serve as project engineer to manage schedule, cost and APQP documentation
o Develop Master plan to drive schedule, cost & performance
o Communicate and address hurdles impacting delivery schedule, cost, and resourcing
o Integrate & prepare APQP documentation alongside Quality and Plant
o Audit preparation and alignment with Quality / Plant during APQP
- Ensure smooth sampling during NPI stage to APQP; lead sample spec (CRD), customer evaluation process
o Leverage internal resources for leading sample spec definition
o Communicate wavier and work with NPI team for improvement plan during sample build
o Closely follow up and timely update customer evaluation process
o Proactively respond and highlight if any potential risk for design in
o Work with core team for completing APQP process and transfer the project to CQE
- Ensure quick, thorough resolution to technical requests during NPI stage
o Deliver solutions to resolve issues promptly, execute and monitor recovery actions until closure with desired results
o Identify customer return issues
o Set up priority, track and follow-up until the issues are resolved
- Be skillful in delivering and gaining feedback from the value proposition
o Work with PLM to promote Corning’s technology advantages and capabilities and prioritize these advantages according to customer requirements and concerns
o Develop and document thorough understanding of customers’ processes from a product, design development and manufacturing perspective
o Lead model design in and qualification process at customer side
o Work with Product Engineer for model analysis and rational spec setting
- Build strong multi-level relationships with customer key persons & potential partners
- In depth knowledge of the Automotive glass solutions and infotainment system industry and products
- Proven technical acumen and experience in process engineering, application engineering and engineering support management, preferably in Automotive glass solutions or infotainment system industry
- Experience in project management, glass materials and finishing specific to the Automotive glass solutions or infotainment industry preferable
- Bachelor’s degree and above in engineering (Mechanical, Electronics, Chemical & Material)
- Fluent in spoken English and good command of written English
- Be comfortable in matrix organization and is able to adopt himself/herself for cross-region communication
- >5 years’ experience in related field (Application Engineer, Project Manager…)
