Run what runs the world.This Position reports to: Marketing Manager - DigitalJOB PROFILE SUMMARYThe ABB PAEN (Process Automation Energy Industries) Local Division Digital Team is looking for a motivated Digital Solution Architect. This role shall serve as a technology expert with strategic focus on both functional and non-functional requirements to define and deliver the architecture of software platforms, applications, and solutions. The ideal candidate must have a strong background in AI based software and industrial digitalization experience in process industries, be able to design a digital architecture for a plant to convince cus-tomer the value out of digitalization and roadmap of future evolvement to autonomous operation. Our energy industries segments include oil & gas, chemicals, refining, power, water, pharmaceuticals, and new energies. The candidate will be responsible for sales support, sales enablement, and tech-nical proposals of digital solutions within the local division.PAEN’s digital business is growing significantly. To sustain and grow, the division is looking for a Digi-tal Solution Architect with technical capabilities of Operation Technology in China local division in line with Global strategy. The Digital Solution Architect will be responsible for leading project system architecture and application design, especially in digital-related opportunities from Energy Industry customers. He should be able to identify and develop business opportunities, support technically on digital solution sales opportunities and manage resolution to specific customer needs and issues and strive in achieving the Ops Plan for digital offerings.ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIESCORE RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Nurtures architectural and design integrity with software architectural and design patterns for their owned digital solutions/modules/sub systems. Lead team to do “needs deicovery” workshop or VOC collection, , design and deliver a digital architechture or a solution fit to customer status quo, budget and needs of evolvement. Be sensitive to customer’s priority and be able to convince customer with best fit design or a digital roadmap.
  • Responsible for technical solution architecture definition, product business requirements specification that integrates ABB digital and automation portfolio and/or third-party offerings. Work with sales and other function teams to provide technical consultations to customers and other stakeholders. Capable to co-work with sales, business development, and operation teams to accomplish technical proposal and cost estimation for digital opportunities. Be involved in the job of software project delivery across the whole life cycle.
  • Work with Product Management team to validate software functions specifications and architecture. Ensures to deliver user-friendly and valuable software by receiving active feedback from customers and stakeholders and accordingly improving and adapting through continuous solutions delivery. New application module design and development to enhance our digital offer and competency. Software solutions build-up based on ABB PAEN software platforms and products according to customer needs. Work with R&D team to review software architecture, system design with given requirements and constraints. Lead digital solution architect strategy and offer support to Energy Industries’ business objectives. Lead new initiatives of Energy Industries’ solution with global activities.
Education, Knowledge, Skills, Experience:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science/Engineering/Industrial Automation or relevant experience. 10+ years of industrial software project or development experience. Experience with AI based industrial software including but nor limit to APM/APC/MOM/chemical process/VPP. Willing to have frequent traveling。 Knowledgeable in the digital OT, ET, and IT ecosystem
  • Proven track record of collaborating with various function teams in a matrix organization, e.g. Sales Account Managers, Technical Account Managers, and Client Managers. Strong ability to influence business units, teams, and resources outside digital team. Technical presentation skills with proven experience calling on customers’ key decision makers or key influencers
  • Fluent in Mandarin and English communication. Good IT skills in software development and database, e.g. .NET, SQL Server, C/C++, etc. Good prompting skills in using Generative AI and familiar with the use of Large Language Models. Experience with Knowledge of existing technologies such as Windows server, web service. Be able to learn new technology quickly
