As an Electrical Engineer at Meta, you will design, build, and test prototype electrical systems for future consumer experiences within Meta's Product Portfolio. You will become part of a team exploring new concepts through fast iterative prototyping. You will work cross-functionally with teams that will dynamically change depending on the problem and potentially include mechanical, optical, firmware, software. We want people who work well in teams, can take a broad definition and implement electrical system development, and can transition these designs into high-volume consumer products.Electrical Engineer, Systems ResponsibilitiesSupport the electrical system development, qualification and system integration from the concept phase to mass productionSupport system stakeholder for electrical system design, performing proving for various design options by designing the experimentsPerform bring up, debug, troubleshootingSupport manufacturing and assembly build, failure mode analysis, root cause diagnosis, and system-level problem solving across the various project phasesWork closely with suppliers and influence their roadmap and uplevel their capabilities to ensure their deliverables can match the product roadmapEffective communication, collaboration and partnership with colleagues, cross-functional partners in evolving development environmentsMinimum Qualifications2 years experience of system design or consumer electrical system designBachelor or above degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent fieldProven knowledge of electrical engineering fundamentalsExperience with schematic and board design using Cadence OrCAD or equivalentExperience designing for HDI rigid PCB and HDI FPC for high volume cost optimized applicationsExperience with power troubleshootingExperience with display, audio, charging electrical subsystem design/testing/implementation and system integration and testing including manufacturing testExperience with use of oscilloscopes, high speed digital test equipment, logic analyzers, or function generatorsDescribe complex features and/or systems in detail and communicate technical information effectivelyPreferred Qualifications5 years of experience in delivering high volume consumer products or similar experienceExperience in subsystem design of power, high speed interface(PCIe, USB, DDR, etc) and display interface (MIPI, eDP, etc), SW-FW development, lab testingExperience with EMI and ESD risks and mitigation techniquesExperience with analog/mixed signal IC design, fabrication, and validation processExperience integrating RF technologies such as WIFI, BT, GPS, etcExperience with cameras and optical systemsExperience with sensors such as IMU, P sensor, Flicker sensor, cap sensorExperience with Android/Linux systemsExperience with programming in python for data collection and analysisAbout MetaMeta builds technologies that help people connect, find communities, and grow businesses. When Facebook launched in 2004, it changed the way people connect. Apps like Messenger, Instagram and WhatsApp further empowered billions around the world. Now, Meta is moving beyond 2D screens toward immersive experiences like augmented and virtual reality to help build the next evolution in social technology. People who choose to build their careers by building with us at Meta help shape a future that will take us beyond what digital connection makes possible today-beyond the constraints of screens, the limits of distance, and even the rules of physics.Equal Employment OpportunityMeta is proud to be an Equal Employment Opportunity employer.
