- Communicate and negotiate critical design details, issues, solutions, and status updates with global cross‑functional teams.
- Manage, review, and provide guidance on ODM mechanical, thermal, sealing, and industrial design to ensure alignment with PMI engineering, quality, cost, and manufacturing requirements.
- Review designs for material selection, processes, finishes, and tolerances to achieve product, cost, and schedule targets.
- Conduct root‑cause analysis and drive corrective actions.
- Review DFA, DFM, and FEA results; track and manage action items.
- Provide technical guidance and engineering solutions as needed.
- Develop or validate system, board, and component‑level CAD models; support PCB layout; perform 3D modeling verification.
- Support thermal management design (heat sinks, airflow, gap materials, EMI shielding, tolerance analysis, etc.).
- Create and document mechanical design requirements from feasibility to detailed design.
- Lead development and integration of mechanical design solutions from concept to production.
- Collect and study AI applications related to mechanical engineering design.
- Propose innovative AI‑driven technology solutions to enhance design efficiency and quality.
- Support deployment of AI tools into the mechanical design and development workflow.
- Collaborate with CIF (Competitive Insights & Foresight) and Costing teams to disassemble and analyze competitor products.
- Generate mechanical‑design‑focused competitive analysis reports.
- Support mechanical cost analysis for parts and components.
- BSME/MSME with 3+ years of experience in mechanical and/or thermal design.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills; strong cross‑functional and external partnership abilities.
- Strong awareness of emerging technologies and AI applications in engineering.
- Proficient with MCAD/MCAE 3D modeling and analysis tools; SolidWorks and Pro/E preferred.
- Background in electromechanical development and end‑to‑end product/system design.
- Deep understanding of DFM and manufacturing processes (sheet metal, die‑cast, injection molding, extrusion, high‑volume tooling, electronics assembly).
- Knowledge of thermal design, EMC, safety standards, and compliance requirements.
- Experience with sheet metal, extrusion, and plastic part design, including soft/hard tooling.
- Bilingual proficiency in English and Chinese (written and spoken).
