Join Roche, where every voice matters.The PositionThis role will be responsible for the BD process, leading Roche Diagnostics China BD project from identification, scouting and selection of candidates, collaboration model validation, and deal negotiations to alliance management. This includes leading the identification and selection of strategic partners, leading partnership deal negotiations, in-licensing, acquisition proposal, and alliance management.This requires seamless management of key client/partner relationships, including maximizing value proposition, ensuring compliance and managing all technical and non-technical aspects of alliances.The opportunity:Deep understanding of external evolving IVD healthcare landscape, proactive outreach to build a relationship with potential partners and ensure the proper fit between IVD partners and core portfolio.Co-creating Roche Dx China partnering strategy and management of business critical 3rd party entity alliances including governance, ensuring effective alliance performance and adjustment as appropriate.Leading end-to-end deal structuring from scouting, due diligence, valuation, negotiation and contracting, e.g. out/in-licensing, co-promotion, strategic alliance, etc. Manage various external and internal stakeholders.Create and standardize BD framework for core business, identification of potential Roche Dx China portfolio extension and identifying potential partners.Leading specific BD projects from identification and selection of candidates, collaboration model validation, deal negotiations to alliance management.Centralize key information regarding Partnering/BD Partner RDSL activities/status for immediate transparency and tracking for the General Manager.Leading Partnering and Alliance Management team to conduct regular business review, negotiate annual business plan, monitor sales & marketing events with partnersLeading the team to coordinate with the internal stakeholders to ensure smooth business partnering, such as legal, compliance, finance, quality, regulatory, etc. as well as with the relevant stakeholders to conduct annual performance review, risk assessment and trainingNurture and develop relationship for further business development, and ensure proper governance policies and procedures.Leading the team to establish and maintain relevant BD contacts/database with external parties, contracting annual memo and ad-hoc subjects per needsLead market research and analysis, assess future market developments and pro-actively propose new business opportunities.Interact with existing internal contacts, facilitate communication, and deliver on key milestones.Collaborate closely w/Regional Partnering and Global Partnering to ensure synergy and provide support.Who you are:Bachelor’s degree in Life Sciences, Biomedical Sciences, Pharmacy, Biology, Medical Informatics, Finance or other related discipline.MBA or other related graduate degree preferredAbility to operate independently with minimal supervision. Track record of end-to-end deal structuring, negotiation and alliance management of complex B2B partnerships in China.At least 8 years of related corporate/industry experience, an understanding of IVD healthcare space is mandatory.Experience:Proven experience as single or key point of contact/negotiation with senior stakeholders such as company officers (VP and above), senior government officials, hospital or healthcare center heads, etc.Deep curiosity about the healthcare ecosystem with a fluency in common business models and knowledge of the competitive landscapeExceptional problem-solving and analytical stills, ability to work alone as product business owner to drive the projects forward.Ability to positively approach new challenges and opportunities, using creative thought processes to uniquely solve problemsAbility to build and execute processes with a mindset toward the futureStrong strategic planning skillsHigh tolerance for ambiguityStrong attention to detail with the ability to multi-task and meet deadlinesOrganized, detail-orientedHigh level of written and oral communication and persuasion skills to very senior stakeholdersGlobal experience highly desiredFluent in Mandarin and EnglishWho we areAt Roche, more than 100,000 people across 100 countries are pushing back the frontiers of healthcare.
