- Evaluate technology partners and suppliers for quality, technical capabilities, and performance records to ensure alignment with Dyson's quality standards. Provide strategic recommendations to stakeholders.
- Lead the functional quality onboarding of suppliers to ensure their understanding of Dyson's quality requirements and prepare them for seamless collaboration across product lifecycles.
- Define and implement end-to-end quality strategies for embedded software, applications, and system-level integration in consumer electronics.
- Collaborate with engineering teams and suppliers to define Critical-to-Quality (CTQ) metrics specific to power systems and drive system designs
- Review architecture designs, APIs, and firmware updates for potential quality risks.
- Establish measurable criteria for performance, durability, reliability, and safety related to system integration. Align test methodologies to measure and validate capability to meet the said criteria.
- Ensure manufacturing process development and product integration are clearly defined, risk-assessed, and tested to demonstrate readiness and capability to consistently deliver product/part fulfilling Dyson requirements
- Identify and implement quality improvement initiatives to build supplier competence in delivering top-tier parts/products.
- Lead technical risk assessment and issue resolution by leveraging both internal and external expertise to ensure issues are thoroughly understood and robustly addressed throughout product lifecycle.
- Qualification: Master's/Bachelor's Degree in Electrical, Electronics, or Electromechanical Engineering.
- Experience: Minimum 8 years of experience in product development, testing and manufacturing, with a focus on embedded or electromechanical systems.
- Domain Knowledge: Proficiency in embedded systems architecture, alongside working knowledge of components such as sensors, PCBs, Battery Management System, Power Electronics, Motors, Heater, and wire harnesses.
- Quality Tools/Standards:
- Knowledge of Quality Management System ISO 9001/13485.
- Familiar with IPC-610/620 standards, ESD, and statistical data analysis methods.
- Experience in tools like 8D, FMEA, GR&R, SPC, DOE, and APQP.
- Advanced problem-solving skills coupled with data/statistical proficiency.
- Excellent organizational, analytical, and prioritization abilities, comfortable working under pressure and managing multiple projects.
- Ability to drive technical excellence and innovation among cross-functional teams and suppliers.
- Strong communication skills tailored to technical, non-technical, hierarchical, and geographically diverse audiences.
- Language Proficiency: English (required), Chinese (for collaboration with suppliers in specific regions).
- Open to international travel as required by cross-border manufacturing and supplier engagements.
- Hands-on expertise with key components such as heaters, sensors, batteries/BMS, PCBs, and motors .
- Certified ISO 9001/13485 auditor .
- Understanding of reliability modeling tools (e.g., Weibull analysis) and manufacturing process validation.
- Relevant affiliations with global technical entities to enhance collaborative opportunities and align with industry standards.
