The Operations, Strategy, & Planning Specialist III leads scientific, technical and business development aspects within the laboratory. This role involves extensive consultation with Business Development and Clients as well as other internal departments on new business timelines, technical and compliance issues, and project-related matters. Collaboration with the director in strategic planning, business development, and expansion initiatives.What You'll Do:
  • Interact extensively with business development directors, and prepare and determine quotation, pricing, project initiation and scheduling as it relates to scientific and technical capabilities of the laboratory operations.
  • Participate in strategic planning, capabilities development, prepare projections, revenue tracking, and other financial-related issues.
  • With management, initiate and implement plans to develop and improve area in the laboratory for greater efficiency, productivity, and quality. Oversee and coordinate projects between US and EU laboratories.
  • Participate in client, QA, facility, and project audits and prepare responses to audits as needed.
  • Complete technical and scientific related special projects.
  • Serve as a liaison to 3rd party lab vendors handling and brokering outsourced lab services.
Education & Experience Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in a science-related discipline or equivalent and relevant formal academic / vocational qualification
  • MT(ASCP) certification or equivalent certification
  • Previous experience that provides the knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the job (comparable to 5+ years’) or equivalent combination of education, training, & experience.
In some cases an equivalency, consisting of a combination of appropriate education, training and/or directly related experience, will be considered sufficient for an individual to meet the requirements of the role.Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:

Working Conditions and Environment:
  • Work is performed in a laboratory and/or a clinical environment with exposure to electrical office equipment.
  • Occasional drives to site locations, occasional domestic travel.
  • Exposure to biological fluids with potential exposure to infectious organisms.
  • Rare exposure to skin and lung irritants, radiation, toxic materials and hazardous waste.
  • Personal protective equipment required such as protective eyewear, garments and gloves.
  • Exposure to fluctuating and/or extreme temperatures on rare occasions.
