Head of Mandarin 中文组长

• In collaboration with the Director of Chinese Curriculum (Whole School) and the Director of Upper School Curriculum (Director of Teaching and Learning), this role involves promoting, assessing, coordinating, and developing aims and standards within this department and across other departments.
• The individual will ensure that students are supported throughout their learning journey, setting the highest expectations for achievement within the department and upholding excellent academic standards.
• The role includes leading efforts in curriculum development and instructional improvements within the department, as well as contributing to the continuous professional development of its faculty members.
• The candidate is expected to inspire colleagues to fully commit to their roles, aligning with the values and ethos of the Code of Conduct and the institution's vision.
• Additionally, the role involves a leadership position in facilitating the institution and the Chinese Education team's engagements with the Local Authority. This encompasses, but is not limited to, ensuring curriculum compliance, managing reporting and inspections, and overseeing teacher development initiatives (including those related to Mandarin and Chinese Humanities subjects).

• Master’s degree in Chinese Language and Literature (education) or Teaching Chinese as a Second Language or equivalent
• Chinese National Teaching Certificate in Chinese Subject (Middle School or High School)
• PGCE preferrable
• Evidence of involvement in relevant CPD
• Fluent in Chinese and English

• 中国语言文学(教育)或汉语作为第二语言教学专业硕士学位或同等学历
• 中国语文科目国家教师证书(初中或高中)
• PGCE 优先

• Monthly salary of 18,000 to 25,000 RMB commensurate with experience and qualifications
