Description :The Senior System Engineer leads the design, optimization, and validation of semiconductor systems, ensuring alignment with customer specifications and engineering standards. This role supports sales and R&D initiatives, facilitates cross-functional collaboration, and delivers timely technical solutions. It drives component selection, documentation accuracy, and cost-effective improvements while coordinating fabrication, testing, and client communications to ensure successful project execution.Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Troubleshoot and optimize BOMs, drawings and documentation for customers with rich design experience.
  • Deliver prompt responses to immediate customer engineering queries and work closely with customer.
  • Support sales team for new business development. Frequent client-visit travels are required.
  • Participate in on-site customer R&D initiatives. Conduct phase gate design review meetings with customers.
  • Identify and optimize component selection for semiconductor equipment.
  • Coordinate fabrication and tests to ensure products and systems conform to engineering design and customer specifications. Provide feedback to internal team on new designs and on-going improvements from process/cost/LT perspective.
  • Facilitate cross-function team and customer communication to drive project execution.

  • Understanding wafer level process flow & interaction between substrate and process equipment.
  • Sealing, gasketing, vacuum-compatible components selection experience.
  • Familiar with semiconductor-grade materials eg quartz, ceramic, anodised.
  • Knowledge of material cost. Proficiency in identifying materials with balanced cost and lead time.
  • DFM and DfR experience.
  • Capable of conducting in-depth analysis and independently resolving complex issues.
  • Proficiency in written and oral English.
Educational/Certification Requirement:
  • Minimum of Master’s degree in Mechanical/Material Science/Chemistry or related Engineering
Experience Requirement:Work Experience:
  • Minimum of 10 years’ electrical and mechanical system design experience for semiconductor capital equipment or other precision equipment
  • Working knowledge of CAD software - AutoCAD, Solidworks
  • Working knowledge of quick-turn, engineer-to-order environment preferred.
