- Has experience and skill implementing a competitive and inclusive aquatics program that is both differentiated and sensitive to the developmental needs of school-aged students
- Possess strong communication skills and is a model collaborator with members of the community including but not limited to fellow aquatics department members, health and physical education department, School Service Office (SSO), and parent community.
- Has extensive experience in competitive swimming such as knowledge of stroke development, writing swim training plans, and hosting swimming invitationals.
- Implementing and leading aquatics lessons and training sessions for students and community.
- Implementing the physical education aquatics and co-curricular programs at the swimming pool.
- In collaboration with the Aquatics Coordinator; coordination, organization, and development of the AISG age-group swim program. Including, but not limited to training, home meets, away meets, travel and communication.
- Responsible for prevention, emergency care, and first aid injuries to swim patrons under their care.
- Maintain up-to-date Emergency Action Plans.
- Ensure that the aquatics facility is covered with onsite coverage according to the school’s policy and procedure.
- Work collaboratively and maintain a line of communication with the lifeguard staff, swim coaches, health & physical education teachers, and facility maintenance personnel to maintain a safe aquatics center.
- Develop age-appropriate training plans for all AISG age-group swimmers.
- Travel to domestic and international events with teams.
- Serve as liaison among aquatics staff, lifeguard, and maintenance staff.
- Log and document emergency care as well as maintain accurate records of injuries according to Emergency Action Plan (EAP) protocol
- Other duties as assigned by the Director of Athletics and Activities as well as the Aquatics Coordinator.
- There is classroom teaching associated with this position
- Minimum 2 years of relevant experience in aquatics (international school setting preferred)
- Minimum Bachelor’s degree in appropriate field.
- Lifeguard Certification by the American Red Cross (or equivalent) with up-to-date CPR and first aid qualification.
- English language proficiency (preferred bi/tri-lingual in Mandarin and/or Cantonese)
- Technical Proficiency with capability to use Active Hytek swim software
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
